Story was good, Performance made it cheesy

Narrator was switched from previous three books, made all the women characters sound like damsels in distress (previously very strong characters). Even Kevin's voice was whiny and had a slur to it. Just made it hard to listen to.

Mailed in

I started these books with not a lot of expectations but did they ever get worse as they went along. Then to top it off changing narrators for the last book is sacrilegious. I not sure what was worse on the last clock the narrator were the bland story. In a story like this you need to go with the story but even this story was too bad to follow

New Narrator Destroys the Ending

I started with Transmission, worked my way through Arrival, gobbled up Ascent... and was excited to begin Return when the unthinkable happens - the narrator is suddenly changed. Three books, one narrator. It grows on you. You hear the characters and enjoy the cadence... well this new narrator puts a British accent on all the characters that were previously standard American accents, and made all the female characters sound ridiculous. It totally destroyed what I had hoped would be a good ending to the series.

Seriously, change narrator on the last book???

I have to say, I have really been enjoying this series. Books 1 through 3 I thought were outstanding and the narrator did a wonderful job with nice character definition and a unique voice for each character. Then we get to book 4, the final book in the series. Now all of a sudden the characters all have an English accent? Nothing against an English accent, had it been used throughout the entire series it would have been different. But to change it on the last book absolutely ruined it for me.

Switch

The narrator spoke with an English accent, a switch from the previous books making it less than desirable.

awful narration,

Awful narration. Why oh why would you change narrator for the final book of the series...the accents were all over the place, the characters were made to sound weak and whiny. Chloe who is a total bad ass comes across as a pathetic wet blanket. The random northern accents, the total lack of inflection when a character is in the midst of a battle or tense situation. Just totally ruined what was a really enjoyable book series.
