Story
I always felt I wasn’t wired like my peers, but when my brother, Kellan, gave me three terms - ace, aromantic, and demi - I had possible names for it. Those three words have been on my mind ever since, as has my brother’s best friend, Josh Westbrook. It’s been cool getting to know him and spending time together, just us. He makes me feel something I never thought I’d be able to feel. When we end up alone in a cabin with only one bed, all my crossed wires finally connect and point toward being demi and wanting him.

Story
A night on the town after a long workweek at my family's distillery should include shots and dancing - not a hot kiss with a handsome stranger. I'm straight. At least, that's what I figured until I find myself locking lips with a sexy city boy. Now, all my circuits are going haywire, and the spark that ignites between us makes me even more curious. Unfortunately, I kissed the one man who's off-limits: Cohen Mitchell - the sole surviving heir to the Mitchell Creek distillery, a rival neighbor my family has feuded with for nearly a 100 years.

Story
I didn’t mean to stow away on the yacht, I swear. My first mistake was going home with the jerk at the bar, but in my defense, Prescott said he owned the Worthington - 90 feet of sleek, yachty perfection - and if I could get the chief mate’s job, I’d have an excuse to stay on board and keep avoiding my family and my future. How was I supposed to know he was the owner’s cheating, gold-digging almost brother-in-law, or that I’d end up stuffed in a closet when the ship left the harbor?

Story
Julian was the boy next door. My brother's best friend, he fit with my family in ways I never could. While he and Rhett went on to play house, I left the only life I knew, desperate for a fresh start. Until everything changed. Heartache came along, and the aftermath of my brother's death was here to stay. I was now face to face with Julian more than I ever wanted to be. Being around him brought up all my insecurities, forced me to deal with hard truths, and conjured up feelings I had no business entertaining. He wasn't the man I thought I knew.

drama.
I'm listening to it now, and still not sure if I can finish it. not a lot of nuances just right or wrong. a lot of assuming, not talking, install lust to love and a lack of depth.
overly dramatic and a lot of repetition.
I have speeded it of quite a whole lot, and still find it rather slow and boring.
hope others can find more to enjoy whit this book than I could.

4.5-starred story of love and absolution
Rescue is the third audiobook in the multi-authored fourth season of the Men of Hidden Creek series and is written by Alison Hendricks. Like the two previous audiobooks in the series, this one is narrated by the talented Nick J. Russo, who is admittedly one of my favorite voices out there. Russo's definitely brought even more life to Hendricks's story of a professional football player with a bad boy reputation on and off the field and the publicist who tries to not just put a positive spin on a negative story but to actually get to know if there's more to his new client than meets the eye. This may be a bit over eight hours long, but with an engaging story like the one found here, time definitely flew by as far as I was concerned.
Tiberius Caulville has more than earned his nickname of "The Beast" and he's no stranger to getting his name and reputation dragged through the mud by the press and the public. However, Ty's latest PR nightmare forces his agent to insist that he take a much-needed break on the property of his uncle in Hidden Creek, Texas. In need of a new publicist, Ty doesn't need the old song and dance from applicants, but that isn't what he gets when Caleb Brower enters for his interview. The guy doesn't hesitate to speak his mind, which is exactly what Ty wants. It doesn't hurt that Caleb also happens to tick all his boxes in a guy he's interested in personally. Helping with Ty's uncle's dog shelter may be exactly what Caleb can use to help Ty's public image, but the more time he spends with the man, the more he's drawn into getting to know the private side.
Both Ty and Caleb were men who seemed to have pretty well-together lives, but there's a side to them that's been damaged by experiences in their respective pasts. I liked getting to know them beyond who they seemed to be, and the whole aspect of the dog rescue was something that touched my heart given my love of dogs. I also appreciated that while the attraction between them was apparent and very mutual, there wasn't this immediate jumping into bed together. These two needed to establish trust and respect with each other, just like they had to do with the dogs. Alison Hendricks did a great job coming up with a touching story about love and absolution and Nick J. Russo impressed again with his narration. 4.5 stars for Rescue. ♥

Ty & Caleb
The perfect name for a perfect story. Great storyline that is a heartwarming tale of two men who need rescuing from themselves. Ty needs to get away from his wild persona and Caleb needs to get past his insecurities. These two are brought together for business but so much more holds them together. It's a slow burn as they build a strong friendship and Caleb gets to see beyond Ty's tough and gruff exterior to the real person inside. The narrator did a fabulous performance of the characters and portrayal of the story. I voulantarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

I have mixed feelings about this one...
I loved this book so much up until the 80% mark. Actually, it was well on its way to becoming one of my favorites and then everything sort of crashed down.
Ty was amazing and I had all the feels for him and the broken puppies, Bella and Hope. I could see the parallels between Ty and the dogs and I was heartbroken by everything they all had to go through and so damn proud that they got past most of it. I really liked Caleb, for the most part. I felt bad for him and what his ex did to him and up to a certain point, I could understand why he reacted the way he did. Thing is, while Ty could get past it, I couldn't and it marred the whole thing for me. Before that part, I was loving the UST and the chemistry between Ty and Caleb and how Caleb seemed to see past The Beast's—Ty's nickname while he played—exterior. They just fit well together, both in and out of the bedroom, or the shed, or wherever they got it on.
I knew something was coming, I just didn't expect it to play like it did and yeah, it ruined the experience for me. I was always going to hate Caleb's ex because he was a horrible excuse for a human being, so there was no surprise there, the surprising part and not in a good way was Caleb's reaction and I'll just leave it at that. I just can't get over it. *grumbles*
Nick's voices were amazing as always and his rendition of all the characters was flawless. He nailed it in the emotion department and had me tearing up more than a couple of times.
While I was disappointed with the final portion of the book, or rather the last angsty moment, I think it was an enjoyable experience for the most part and hey, you might not think the same about what happened, so give it a try.

Interesting Story, Nick J. Russo Does a Great Job
Written by Alison Hendricks, Rescue is the third book in the fourth season of the Men of Hidden Creek series. The books in this series can be read as standalones.
Do not go into this one thinking you are getting a sweet and fluffy romance. It is a romance, but Ms. Hendricks tackles a variety of intense issues in Rescue.* As the characters work through some powerful trauma, they find healing in each other’s support, as well as finding benefits by reaching out to those in need.
When Public Relations expert Caleb Brower travels to Hidden Creek to attempt to salvage pro footballer Ty Caulville’s reputation, he doesn’t expect to fall for the brute. What starts as a purely physical attraction between the two eventually evolves into a physical relationship. As the two men bond over shared experiences, as well as opening up about events in their pasts, they form a deeper connection.
Narrated by Nick J. Russo, he does a wonderful job with the wide variety of characters in Rescue. His portrayal of the whiny and arrogant Kevin (Caleb’s manipulative ex-boyfriend) is fantastic. And the level of anger he’s able to convey when performing Ty’s outbursts is absolutely chilling.
*There are off page references to child and spousal abuse, violence, as well as on page descriptions of animal abuse.

A dog lover’s delight
This is the third book in Season Four of Hidden Creek, a series set in a fictional town in Texas where people come to heal. Tiberius “The Beast” Caulville is such a man. He’s an enforcer in the NFL and known on and off field as a beast. He takes his role seriously but all is not as it appears. His latest fight has landed him in some hot water with both the league and the law – if he doesn’t rehabilitate his image quickly and effectively then his career might be over.
Enter Caleb Brower, Public Relations guy, looking to make a name for himself. He’s been working with a manipulative man for a number of years who also happens to be his ex-boyfriend. He wants to put distance from that relationship and surely chasing a potential client from Atlanta to Hidden Creek Texas counts as an effective way to make his way out from the shadow. He has to prove himself and landing Tiberius as a client would go a long way toward accomplishing that goal.
Both men have a lot to lose if this working relationship doesn’t work out which means both of them need to keep it professional – right? But the chemistry is immediate because each man has what the other seems to want. Ty likes it a little rough and enjoys being the dominant partner. Caleb likes it when his partner takes the lead even though that sometimes makes him feel weak. Both men are also going to have to learn to communicate effectively if they’re going to make this relationship work – both professionally and personally.
To rehabilitate Ty’s image, Caleb looks to find the softer side. And, for Ty’s part, after initially fighting, he comes to see the benefits. As he ruminates: He could do this. He could show the world the softer side of the beast and in doing so prove he had a place.
Enter the dogs.
I was able immediately to tie the second book into this third one and was thrilled to see Bolt the dog’s origin story. There are other dogs who play a good sidekicks including Copper the digger. All puppies are curious, to be sure, but this little guy won my heart but not just his antics but by his stubborn unwillingness to go ‘down’ on command. My little one is the same way – great with ALL other commands except ‘down’. Stubborn dog.
But I digress. The dogs bring out something in Ty and even Caleb is surprised as Ty shares more and more of his personal history. All is not as it seems and Caleb is determined to get to the truth, not matter the cost. Ty believes the price is too high and that others might get hurt and that’s something he can’t allow – he’s a protector through and through.
There are some tough moments to take in the book related to the dogs but everything works out in the end. Warmed my animal lover’s heart. And the epilogue? Really well done.
Nick J. Russo is the narrator for this series and I think he was a great choice. He carries the characters and stories bringing consistency and great quality. Another great read and as a dog lover, it has a special place in my heart

Saving Love
I was lucky to get promo audio codes for this whole season of Hidden Creek. Nick J. Russo is an excellent narrator and he does a wonderful job of giving the guys a voice. I love how well-devloped all the men of hidden Creek are and Alison Hendricks characters are no exception. This was a heart-warming tale as the two guys get past their past and learn to come together by saving more than each other. Highly recommended for all lovers of Contemporary MM romance.

Loving Nick J Russo!
I’m enjoying this series - although they are all set in Hidden Creek, they’re definitely stand alone and can be read in any order.
Alison Hendricks is a fairly new Author to me and I enjoyed this story. I liked both Ty and Caleb as MC’s, there was more to both of them than I imagined when I read the blurb for this book. And of course, anything with dogs in is a winner for me!!!
Nick J Russo just gets better and better, I love his narration. He nails these characters and I felt every emotion in his voice. Brilliant!

Caleb to the rescue...
Ty is the troublemaker. He has a bad rep and the bad boy. Always in a bind. Nobody knows the truth though. Until Caleb. He is the PR guy who has the monumental task of clearing Ty’s name but is that the only thing he will do. Ty is a good guy with a but of temper. I understand why and feel for him. The romance is super hot. It’s kind of a slow burn and worth the wait. I was rooting for these two... all the way! Nick Russo is one good narrator.

Multiple rescues make for a heart warming tale
Ty (also known as the Beast) is sent to his uncles to be out the limelight and attempt to regain some control back over his PR nightmare of a life. He hires PR man Caleb, because at the meeting he didn’t seem to be the usual type of PR yes man. However there’s lots of hurt in both men’s pasts, even if it hasn’t been fully realised. And it may take the love of some rescue pups to make everything come clear.
I really enjoyed Rescue. Both main characters were believable and nicely multifaceted - no plain old cookie cutter character cut outs here. The dogs were adorable (because yay doggies!) and really helped to make the story and move it forward.
The narration was enjoyable, some narrators I find just irritate me and make a book un-listenable but not Russo. I’m loving Hidden Creek and want to move in!

A beautiful story!

A beautiful story where there is much more than meets the eye!
I loved the intrigue Alison created throughout this story. We only learn small pieces of each character as their journey unfolds and their pasts collide with the present. I loved Ty and his truely wonderful and caring hidden nature. He is always protecting someone and has a heart of gold. He is able to overcome some of his greatest fears and trauma from his past to help a desperate dog in need! I found this part and Ty’s overall healing really touching and relatable. I loved that this story focused on the characters individually more so than “just another love story”. I felt there was real relatable depth to both these characters and the fact that they were attracted to each other was a bonus and happened organically even if lust was ever-present.
I felt for Caleb and his asshole ex’s pestering and interfering and I’m so glad he was able to finally stand up for himself and let himself accept and care for Ty. There were definitely some hard moments and challenges for both characters throughout this story but I loved the growth, healing, care, and love at every turn.
A beautiful addition to the Men of Hidden Creek and the perfect example of why this town is so special!! I loved it!
Thanks for reading!

Narration was great!
A complimentary audio was provided in exchange for an honest review.
I've not read this author before, or any of the books in the series. This is completely stand alone.
I enjoyed this story as a whole. The narration! Whew, awesome! Russo is the primary reason I gave this a go, then the blurb got my attention and I was like, why not? This was certainly worth it. The characters were good, the plot (aside from the drama) was great, and the doggies! I may not like big, smelly, loud dogs in real life, but on page they are perfect, especially puppies. I am a sucker for puppies. :)
When Ty gets in trouble he heads to his uncles place in Hidden Creek, and Caleb is sent to put a new spin on Ty's image. Caleb uses the dogs (Ty's uncle runs a no kill shelter) in a 2 for 1 special - get homeless pups adopted and give Ty a new, softer, public image.
As I said, overall I enjoyed this story. The build up to Ty and Caleb getting together was exciting and I kept coming back for more. Once they hook up, the sex takes over and I had to skip parts because I just don't want that much sex in my romance. I am all for the sweet cuddles after, but after a while the act of sex on page is boring. Toss is the drama with Caleb's ex, Kevin, yeesh, my enjoyment did start to dim.
The ending was sweet and I am happy to report the dogs also get an HEA. Ty career in football changes to one of helping others with his same temper issues, using the dogs as a gateway. I found that a very satisfying and hopeful ending. Because of the drama I give this 3 stars. Narration 5. I do recommend this and I will keep an eye out for more by this author.

Slow burning love
We are back in Hidden Creek a gem of a Texan town that is so inclusive it makes you want to live there. This is the fourth season of this wonderful multi-author series.
Ty ‘the beast’ is an NFL linebacker and in trouble again, so he goes to his uncle’s in Hidden Creek to lie low. Caleb is the PR man hired to help Ty’s image, he’s trying to start again after splitting from his ex and his ex’s firm.
After a slow tension filled start these very different men find common ground on which to work, they build on this finding away to represent Ty in a new light, even when outside sources are determined to tear them down.
This is a sweet but drama filled book about second chances with every scene stolen by a cute pup. Ty and Caleb have a lust driven dynamic which makes the narrative by Nick J. Russo so good between them. This is a really good book and is so worth listening to.

Another great book in this wonderful series
Alison Hendricks is relatively new to me but she tells a great story. This is a tale of two damaged men rescued by each other and the dogs they love. I adored Caleb and Ty, who really is a cinnamon roll! The plot had a few twists and the angst is low but there's enough to keep it interesting.
Nick J Russo is the perfect narrator for this series and I love everything he does.
Can't wait for the next book in the series.
