Breaks your heart then puts it back together

The title of this audiobook really says it all. This is a story about overcoming the past for more than one character, but Chad is the main focus. He has made bad decisions in the past and alienated and offended countless people in Hidden Creek. Now, he's trying to get himself together and change. But change isn't easy, especially when you have to prove the change to other people you've hurt. This is my first *season* in Hidden Creek, so I haven't read the previous book about Chad, Gabe, and Ryan, but past actions have left some really hard feelings. Jasper is a breath of fresh air and a chance for Chad to start anew and maybe find love. I understand the feelings of those who weren't ready to forgive Chad yet, but I loved the people like Peter and Chris who were willing to see the changes and give Chad another chance. This is just a fantastic story that both breaks your heart and puts it back together. The scene with Chad's parents almost brought tears to my eyes. He was struggling so hard, and it seemed the world conspired against him at every turn. Jasper's journey is pretty powerful, too.

I love Nick Ruso's narration! He really channels the emotions of the story.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Sweet and angst filled love story

Another good story in this series. I liked it very much, it had some insecurities, love and people’s personalities developing from bad to good.

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Good dialogues
Secondary characters that helped make the story as good as it could be.
Characters is well described and developed in to realistic personalities
Good chemistry between Jasper and Chad that was very sweet in the build up of their relationship

Narrator:
As always read with feelings and clear pronunciation

My favorite in the series!

While I've enjoyed most of the stories in this season of the Men of Hidden Creek series, Redemption was definitely my favorite.

I haven't listened to/read the previous seasons, so I had no clue who Chad was beforehand, still, Mr. Davies gave enough background information that I knew he'd behaved badly with a lot of people and yes, he owned to his past mistakes, but he kept trying to turn his life around and being blocked at every step that I couldn't not fell bad for him. It was love at first cry for me, and I cried so much for Chad. Jasper was a lovely  character, I kept thinking he might do something to Chad that might make me hate him, but he was supportive and whether this all started as a pet project for him or not, he was good to Chad and was there for him when Chad needed him the most. Nevermind the amazing chemistry between them and how well they fit together once Chad allowed Jasper in.

Nick J. Russo's performance was amazing! Definitely one of my favorites of his so far. The voices were spot on and the emotion he brought into the story complimented it nicely.

Highly recommendable!

Gripping and enjoyable

I found myself completely engaged in this story. The story evolves around Chad and Jasper and I found them to be deeply multifaceted. Their story is ultimately their redemptions along with the trials and bumps in the road. I found Davies's writing to be so emotion-filled that it packs a huge punch to the feels. Russo's narration is spot on and powerful in this story. Not to be missed

Oh, Jasper...

I dont even have to words to describe how much I loved these two guys. Jasper felt safe in this little town and Chad was so damaged. Every emotion was easily felt by the listener and I loved every second. This series is so well done! Every author adds their own special twist and each book is a joy to read.

Ending this season on a high note!

Redemption is the sixth and final audiobook in the multi-authored fourth season of the Men of Hidden Creek series and it's penned by E. Davies and narrated by Nick J. Russo. A mugging in Houston brought Jasper Barnes to Hidden Creek, and he's still trying to get his bearings after what happened. Learning to defend himself could possibly help him regain some of that confidence he lost after the incident, but he's wary about having Chad Allaback being his instructor. Chad's reputation around town isn't all that great, and there are residents who don't exactly have the best things to say about him, not when he pretty much earned that reputation of his. When a life-changing event forces him to take stock of his life, Chad is hesitant to reach out to the people around him, not when his past precedes him. However, when he finds himself at risk of losing his home. it's Jasper he goes to. The two share a bond, but with their respective pasts still haunting them, will they ever be able to make a go of a future together?

Ah, I do love me my angst, and this book had it in spades! Jasper and Chad were dealing with the aftermath of life-altering events respectively, with both feeling stuck in neutral or not moving forward as much as they may have wanted to. This isn't my first E. Davies story, but it's certainly become my favorite. I was moved to tears more than once while listening to this audiobook, and I must admit that that's a rarity. Sure, if shed many a tear when it comes to reading books (or watching television or a movie), but listening to a story and then either getting teary-eyed or outright crying is unusual for me, but cry I did with this really wonderful story that lives up to its title. Nick J. Russo is at his best here, bringing Jasper and Chad and their moving and inspiring tale to life. Talk about the perfect end to what's been a truly entertaining and enjoyable series that now has me curious about the first three seasons and hopeful for even more to come. Redemption receives five stars. ♥

AMAZING!!

They definitely saved the best for last, this is my favorite of the series! Chad and Jasper are perfect together and they truly are just what the other needs. I really liked watching Chad redeem himself, you could feel that he truly was doing everything in his power to make positive changes in his life and become a better person. Jasper supports him along the way and at the same time Chad helps Jasper face his own issues. Their chemistry is incredible but apart from that, you can really feel their friendship, love and commitment to one another. An all around beautiful story made even better by the spectacular narrator. He perfectly interprets the character and really makes you feel their emotions. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

Perfect Ending to Hidden Creek, Season 4

Chad had a rough start to his Hidden Creek story. But since his DUI, he's been sober and holding down a job offering self-defense lessons. Its there he meets Jasper. Jasper moves to Hidden Creek from Houston, hiding in the small town. Despite the safer ambience of the town, he signs up for self-defense. When he and Chad start spending time together, he begins to feel a pull towards him. Chad can't believe someone is interested in him. Can these two men work beyond their pasts to the beautiful future they can build together, or will their pasts be too much to overcome?
Any book by E.Davies is going to be an emotional and beautiful book and when you add in the wonderful characters of Hidden Creek, you know you will have an amazing read! This book is no different! The characters are so wonderfully written, with great depth and backstory. Each main character has a different focus while still overcoming their pasts, either bad decisions, or bad circumstances, while they work together towards their future together.
Nick J Russo did an amazing job with this entire series, and this book is no different! The way he brought this little town to life was absolutely amazing! The characters were distinct and his voice is easy to listen to! I was able to listen in one (long) session! I absolutely love the entire series, and this book is a wonderful ending to Season 4. Great read!!!!

Redeem yourselfg and listen to this.

Jasper Barnes was mugged. He hides out in Hidden Crrek to get over it but months later he is still procrastinating.
He considers taking self defence lessons but the guy teaching them has a bit of a reputation.

Chad, the self defense guy, has his own secrets and they are just about to come home to roost. Jasper offers his help.

So by taking up the self defense lessons, a copnnection develops.

This is part of the Men of Hidden Creek series. This is series 4, book 6. A lot of my favourite authors are submitting books for this series.

It is narrated b Nick J Russo. I enjoyed listening to this at night but the only drawback to this is that the other half thiniks i've gone stark raving mad when I start umming and ahhhing over the emotional bits.

I would recommend this aidio book and will be going through the back catalogue to find out which other I have missed on Audio.

Perfect Ending

I've been waiting on Chad's book since season 2. And it didn't disappoint. Watching Chad work on hisself and try to and change was great to see. I was happy that Jasper wanted people to see that Chad had changed, but I didn't like how he went about it. Nick really delivered on their voices. He had me crying from the emotions he placed in their voices during heavy conversations.

Wonderful narration!

Sometimes is difficult to choose what's better if the book or the narration. This is one of my favorite books in the series and one of the best stories in this season 4. The book features Chad and Jasper's story and is inspiring and captivating. It Is about confronting and accepting past mistakes, while finding love and a better future. Now Mr Russo is one of my favorite voice actors in this genre and I love how he managed the characters, giving each one of them a personality and all this little details that helped to bring them alive. As I can't choose, I am just going to say that a good book deserves a narrator just as good. Loved It!

One of my favorites ever

My favorite story these days is one in which an author takes a character we all know and despise from previous books in a series and shows us that character in a whole new light. Redemption is definitely the right word for the title of this story where we finally learn why Chad has behaved the way he has in this series. Jasper comes to Hidden Creek to escape, Chad has to turn to him for help with a situation and the two of them together are simply magic. They each find something in the other that they desperately need and become better men for being together. I didn't think I could love E. Davies any more as an author than I already do, but this book accomplished that. The performance by Nick J. Russo was as good as the story. He brought every character to distinct life as he always does, but here, through his voice, I saw these characters change and evolve right before my eyes. Just a breathtaking audiobook all the way around.

I totally fell in love with Jasper and Chad

Wow, what a redemption story, I totally fell in love with Jasper and Chad who are both in a very vulnerable place when we meet them. When we first meet Chad in previous books he is a bully with few redeeming features although we do glimpse a softer side. He begins to realise that this is not the person he wants to be and begins to put a lot of effort into turning his life around. He has been trying to gain the trust and respect of the Hidden Creek community after turning over a new leaf and also to feel that he is worth a second chance. Jasper is recovering from a mugging that he refuses to talk about but, when he enquires about self defence classes Chad offers to help. The pair immediately feel a spark but Chad holds back initially, afraid that he may fall back into old habits . These two damaged men prove to be much stronger together than apart and I loved the way that this couple effectively save each other.

Just love me while I save myself

This story is Amazing! I hadn’t read/listened to whatever the book was that detailed Chad’s prior behavior, but it was clear a lot of people didn’t like him, and he had a tremendous uphill battle if he wanted to stay and be accepted in Hidden Creek. He got points for that from me right away. So many books start with someone moving away and starting anew somewhere…until their past catches up to them. Here, Chad faces down his critics and demons every day, and he is literally crawling his way back. I really admired his strength and perseverance. And, I absolutely loved Jasper. He was so steadfast and encouraging. He mis-stepped on occasion, but I loved the way he advocated for Chad. Such a sweet and heart-warming story. There is a bit of angst, mostly about things that happened in the past that are still holding the MCs back, I loved their journey of growth and love.

My favorite lines:
Chad: I don’t wanna be saved. Just love me while I save myself.
Jasper: I can do that. I’ll be by your side.

The narration by Nick Russo is excellent, especially the way he captures emotion-filled moments. It felt like I was there, listening to Chad's tear-filled voice.

Absolutely loved it

3.5 stars’ This was my first Men or Hidden Creek books (and it definitely won’t be my last!) Because it was my first, I didn’t really get to see all the negativity by Chad in the past, and I’m glad for it as I’m not an easy forgiver lol. Instead, I got to see a man who has made bad choices in the past, but is truly repentant about them and is trying to change himself for the better. There was no hiding his past though, and I loved that, as it gave the relationship with Jasper (who knew what had happened) more credibility. Jasper was an amazing character too; who dealt with his own issues and it was all just handled so maturely and wonderfully.
