Six months after his wake-up call, Chad is too afraid of his past to reach out to those around him in his hometown. Accepting help from Jasper, when he finds out he’s about to lose his home, is the hardest thing he’s done. Can he really change now?

Self-defense lessons quickly turn into a sizzling, secret connection. When neither man is sure if they can trust their heart to the other, they hit a breaking point all too quickly. It’s going to take a Hidden Creek miracle to heal their scars and find redemption in each other’s arms.

Breaks your heart then puts it back together

The title of this audiobook really says it all. This is a story about overcoming the past for more than one character, but Chad is the main focus. He has made bad decisions in the past and alienated and offended countless people in Hidden Creek. Now, he's trying to get himself together and change. But change isn't easy, especially when you have to prove the change to other people you've hurt. This is my first *season* in Hidden Creek, so I haven't read the previous book about Chad, Gabe, and Ryan, but past actions have left some really hard feelings. Jasper is a breath of fresh air and a chance for Chad to start anew and maybe find love. I understand the feelings of those who weren't ready to forgive Chad yet, but I loved the people like Peter and Chris who were willing to see the changes and give Chad another chance. This is just a fantastic story that both breaks your heart and puts it back together. The scene with Chad's parents almost brought tears to my eyes. He was struggling so hard, and it seemed the world conspired against him at every turn. Jasper's journey is pretty powerful, too.

I love Nick Ruso's narration! He really channels the emotions of the story.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Sweet and angst filled love story

Another good story in this series. I liked it very much, it had some insecurities, love and people’s personalities developing from bad to good.

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Good dialogues
Secondary characters that helped make the story as good as it could be.
Characters is well described and developed in to realistic personalities
Good chemistry between Jasper and Chad that was very sweet in the build up of their relationship

Narrator:
As always read with feelings and clear pronunciation

My favorite in the series!

While I've enjoyed most of the stories in this season of the Men of Hidden Creek series, Redemption was definitely my favorite.

I haven't listened to/read the previous seasons, so I had no clue who Chad was beforehand, still, Mr. Davies gave enough background information that I knew he'd behaved badly with a lot of people and yes, he owned to his past mistakes, but he kept trying to turn his life around and being blocked at every step that I couldn't not fell bad for him. It was love at first cry for me, and I cried so much for Chad. Jasper was a lovely  character, I kept thinking he might do something to Chad that might make me hate him, but he was supportive and whether this all started as a pet project for him or not, he was good to Chad and was there for him when Chad needed him the most. Nevermind the amazing chemistry between them and how well they fit together once Chad allowed Jasper in.

Nick J. Russo's performance was amazing! Definitely one of my favorites of his so far. The voices were spot on and the emotion he brought into the story complimented it nicely.

Highly recommendable!

Gripping and enjoyable

I found myself completely engaged in this story. The story evolves around Chad and Jasper and I found them to be deeply multifaceted. Their story is ultimately their redemptions along with the trials and bumps in the road. I found Davies's writing to be so emotion-filled that it packs a huge punch to the feels. Russo's narration is spot on and powerful in this story. Not to be missed

Oh, Jasper...

I dont even have to words to describe how much I loved these two guys. Jasper felt safe in this little town and Chad was so damaged. Every emotion was easily felt by the listener and I loved every second. This series is so well done! Every author adds their own special twist and each book is a joy to read.

Ending this season on a high note!

Redemption is the sixth and final audiobook in the multi-authored fourth season of the Men of Hidden Creek series and it's penned by E. Davies and narrated by Nick J. Russo. A mugging in Houston brought Jasper Barnes to Hidden Creek, and he's still trying to get his bearings after what happened. Learning to defend himself could possibly help him regain some of that confidence he lost after the incident, but he's wary about having Chad Allaback being his instructor. Chad's reputation around town isn't all that great, and there are residents who don't exactly have the best things to say about him, not when he pretty much earned that reputation of his. When a life-changing event forces him to take stock of his life, Chad is hesitant to reach out to the people around him, not when his past precedes him. However, when he finds himself at risk of losing his home. it's Jasper he goes to. The two share a bond, but with their respective pasts still haunting them, will they ever be able to make a go of a future together?

Ah, I do love me my angst, and this book had it in spades! Jasper and Chad were dealing with the aftermath of life-altering events respectively, with both feeling stuck in neutral or not moving forward as much as they may have wanted to. This isn't my first E. Davies story, but it's certainly become my favorite. I was moved to tears more than once while listening to this audiobook, and I must admit that that's a rarity. Sure, if shed many a tear when it comes to reading books (or watching television or a movie), but listening to a story and then either getting teary-eyed or outright crying is unusual for me, but cry I did with this really wonderful story that lives up to its title. Nick J. Russo is at his best here, bringing Jasper and Chad and their moving and inspiring tale to life. Talk about the perfect end to what's been a truly entertaining and enjoyable series that now has me curious about the first three seasons and hopeful for even more to come. Redemption receives five stars. ♥

AMAZING!!

They definitely saved the best for last, this is my favorite of the series! Chad and Jasper are perfect together and they truly are just what the other needs. I really liked watching Chad redeem himself, you could feel that he truly was doing everything in his power to make positive changes in his life and become a better person. Jasper supports him along the way and at the same time Chad helps Jasper face his own issues. Their chemistry is incredible but apart from that, you can really feel their friendship, love and commitment to one another. An all around beautiful story made even better by the spectacular narrator. He perfectly interprets the character and really makes you feel their emotions. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

Perfect Ending to Hidden Creek, Season 4

Chad had a rough start to his Hidden Creek story. But since his DUI, he's been sober and holding down a job offering self-defense lessons. Its there he meets Jasper. Jasper moves to Hidden Creek from Houston, hiding in the small town. Despite the safer ambience of the town, he signs up for self-defense. When he and Chad start spending time together, he begins to feel a pull towards him. Chad can't believe someone is interested in him. Can these two men work beyond their pasts to the beautiful future they can build together, or will their pasts be too much to overcome?
Any book by E.Davies is going to be an emotional and beautiful book and when you add in the wonderful characters of Hidden Creek, you know you will have an amazing read! This book is no different! The characters are so wonderfully written, with great depth and backstory. Each main character has a different focus while still overcoming their pasts, either bad decisions, or bad circumstances, while they work together towards their future together.
Nick J Russo did an amazing job with this entire series, and this book is no different! The way he brought this little town to life was absolutely amazing! The characters were distinct and his voice is easy to listen to! I was able to listen in one (long) session! I absolutely love the entire series, and this book is a wonderful ending to Season 4. Great read!!!!

Hidden Creek Season 4 is a triumph!

I love the Men of Hidden Creek, Texas and Nick J Russo has done an excellent job of bringing the stories to life. The guys are such well developed characters and this sixth and final book of the current season is all about getting a second chance to be a better person. Chad has done some bad things and made some terrible choices, but he's turning his life around and also helping Jasper get past a traumatic event from his not too distant past. I love how the guys learn to get along and become more than they were as team rather than individuals. Highly recommended for all lovers of Contemporary MM romance.

Ending the series on a high

I’ve said before, and just to keep repeating myself, I’ve loved this series. It’s great that different Authors have written around the town of Hidden Creek, it’s lead me to some writers I may never have tried otherwise.

I enjoy E Davies’ writing and so was thrilled to get to listen to this. It was great to revisit a character we met earlier on in the series and whom I didn’t like so much before. As it’s titled though, it was Chad’s chance for redemption, he changed hugely in this book. I loved Jasper and Chad by the end of this book, there’s plenty of back and forth but they get their HEA.

Russo is, as always, fantastic. There’s plenty of humour and feels in this book and he hits the nail on the head with all the emotion. A great end to this series.

Redemption is truly a redemption story

So we have Jasper and Chad...both with things in their past that they’re working on. Chad is truly trying for redemption from the town of Hidden Creek - to make up for how he was in the past. Jasper had a bad time in Houston and is now trying to move forward, but in moving forward he’s run back to Hidden Creek and that’s where he and Chad meet.

I loved Chad and Jasper’s story and really felt for both characters. Jasper was keen to move forward but the same time pulling away from actually moving forward. Chad wanted to move forward but didn’t think that he was worthy of it. Both men together were just right because they helped the other realise what they had to do. Some stubbornness on both sides (what good story doesn’t have this?!?!) and some moments where I just wanted to wrap Chad up in a big giant hug!

A good narration by Nick J Russo that made the story fresh even after I had read it before listening to it. I’ll definitely listen again.

A second chance...

Everyone deserves a second chance. Even the jerk of the town and that’s what he has been all his life. Now Jasper comes in and swoops him from his lowest time. Shows him the way to love, even when he thinks he doesn’t deserve it. I really loved this story. The underdog gets his happily ever after. Really awesome. Russo is a versatile narrator.

A perfect, powerful & redeeming redemption story!

A perfect, powerful and redeeming redemption story! Proves how valuable second chances can be!

I haven't read the previous seasons of the Men of Hidden Creek, so didn't know the troubling past of Chad and his previous actions. However, I felt Ed was able to draw us into Chad's life, mind and past regrets that I didn't really feel like I was missing anything. I felt for Chad and his overwhelming regret, guilt and his desire to change and grow in spite of his past actions and less than savory dealings. Chad wants to change and is trying so, so hard.

My heart did break at various points throughout this story as Chad had to face many roadblocks, the backlash from the town and continually face being seen as the same 'disgrace' he felt he was before.

I loved Jasper, his story and his attraction to Chad, that, thankfully he doesn't fight and decides to make up his own mind about the person in front of him rather than judge Chads past. As they both face their own hardships, I loved the simmering attraction and fledgling relationship they start in spite of it all. There back and forth and miscommunication is endearingly adorable and I felt Jasper and Chad are perfectly matched and make each other want to better versions of themselves!

This was an emotional read but I loved it! A fantastic redemption story to prove people can change and heal from the guilt and mistakes of their pasts!

As with this whole season of Hidden Creek Nick's narration is fantastic!

Thanks for reading!

Second chances

We are back in Hidden Creek a gem of a Texan town that is so inclusive it makes you want to live there. This is the fourth season of this wonderful multi-author series.

Chad was a jerk bad guy in a previous seasons book but he’s trying to turn his life around, if the people of Hiddencreek would give him a chance. Maybe he will get the chance, when Jasper who is suffering a crisis of confidence, takes up his offer to help him learn some self defence. What follows is a sweet emotional read that will bring a tear to your eye.

I love this last book of the season as Chad has changed and so deserves his HEA. Such an enjoyable read.

My favourite of series 4

Now, I've not read the book where Chad was 'the bad guy' (TM), so I went into this book with no strong feelings about Chad. I saw a man who had made bad choices, who life had beaten down at every turn and he'd reacted badly to that beating, like a whipped dog biting the hand that feeds them. But a man who was try to put things right and questioning every action and reaction because of his past decisions. Jasper was a good guy but Chad, Chad just broke my damn heart, time and time again.
Loved it.

Ending on a high!

E.Davies is a go to author of mine so I was thrilled to see they had contributed to the fourth series of Hidden Creek.
Chad was very much the villain in past books but in this book he gets his chance at Redemption, and is working hard to make amends and a better name for himself.
Jasper has runaway from Huston to Hidden Creek after a mugging, and after agreeing to take self defence lessons from Chad, sees the positive changes and encourages others to see them too.
Not everything is smooth sailing but there is always a HEA in Hidden Creek 🥰

Wonderful narration for a story of redemption

Redemption is the 6th book in the fourth Hidden Creek series and we get to see a previous bad apple come through and show how people can change when given the chance that they want to take.
Chad made a lot of bad choices for a few years, even scaring a few people, and after being spoken to and provided with a word of advice, makes some big changes to how he was living his life. Currently renting a trailer and working in the kitchen of the local diner, he is striving to live a clean, straight life. Jasper provides the opportunity to step up and help another as Jasper looks to learn self defence and feel safer after being mugged a few months ago. An unexpected friendship blooms as they take tentative steps towards each other, though often one step back as well for Chad as he second guesses all of his words and actions. Each man has his secrets and wants for the future, both individually and together but it's an eventful trip as past hurts come to haunt them and threaten their new relationship.
Ed has written a beautiful story, especially for Chad, about the chance to redeem yourself to others but I think also to yourself as one of the biggest battles. It was really interesting reading the different groups of people coming together (at Phoenix, the gym, Rocket etc) and the bonds that have been formed across the town. There are some wonderfully touching moments and one or two where you want to shake the characters as we read them make a possible mistake but it all comes together as a wonderful romance.
A great end to this series and a perfect fit. A big recommendation from me.
Nick has done amazing work narrating the whole of Hidden Creek Series four. Throughout this story he is on point with the character voices, giving every emotion the chance to come through. I love the feelings I got for Chad and his character's stresses as we work through the story, he experiences a lot of ups and downs but fights for what he believes is now right and changing himself for the better. Jasper's voice is more light even though he's had a recent traumatic experience. I was drawn into the story right from the start with Nick's narration bringing me right along with the characters as they go on their journey individually and together.
