Publisher's Summary

The scum hiding deep inside the Reach out along galaxy's edge thought they could kill her and not pay the price. For years these hardened killers have run roughshod over the lawless worlds where Republic justice is never as fast as the blaster in your hand and where double-crosses and death are a part of every deal. They thought this time would be no different.

They were wrong.

This time, the Guild sent the legendary bounty hunter Tyrus Rechs.

As the infamous Rechs pursues the men who murdered his colleague, he's hell-bent on justice, heedless of the trail of destruction he leaves across ruined worlds and fantastic gambling meccas alike. Because for Rechs, this isn't just another Guild contract...it's personal.

Lives up to the series

Great story by the authors and performance by Ray Porter.

It's what I have come to expect from this team, and I was not left wanting. Looking forward to listening to Chasing the Dragon.

The Man, The Myth, The Legend--Tyrus Rechs

The story is haunting, as to be expected with the life of Tyrus. Not to give too much away, but we see the kinder, gentler side of the famed bounty hunter before he fell apart. The story is achingly beautiful even while being packed with the gunslinging action we've come to expect from GE. Loved it!

10 stars

Tyrus Rechs. The man is an enigma and Requiem delivers more pieces of the puzzle. It's all coming together now. I never thought that a bounty hunters' love story can be so hauntingly and as another reviewer said - achingly - beautiful.

There is plenty of fighting here, but I love it how the blaster fire is blended with melancholy of loss. I read the description of the book and it was like "ok cool!" I listened to the book and it's like "oh wow, stick that dagger in my heart again, that was beautiful..." I did not expect this. By now I know the guys are amazing at combat narrative so I'm quite stunned at the skillful delivery of this emotional tragedy. The very final dialog got my face drenched in tears.

This is one of the best books by this author team and the narrator brought it home.

Very good

I am not an RC Bray fan, he reads so much sci-fi this limits what I buy; but Ray Porter is the king, the best narrator with books at Audible.

Galaxys Edge was good with RCB it’s insanely good with RP. My only gripe is more from the aliens or bad guys perspectives. Kudos

A must read for any Galaxy’s Edge fans!

A lot of the anthology books have been hit or miss, with the stories ranging from the more traditional space opera styles of yesteryears, or the military science fiction that’s also top notch. This book manages to mesh action and intricate story telling in a way that’s both exhilarating and extremely engrossing.

Ray Porter’s portrayal of Tyrus Rechs helps humanise the man within the mask, whereas the main series and Imperator had us believe that Rechs was a stone-cold man, as Rechs rightfully wanted them to think, Ray Porter’s take on Rechs’ mannerisms and internal dialogue made Rechs feel relatable.

Overall, a great story and great performance.

Don't mess with Tyrus Rechs!

Requiem for Medusa is, at its core, about revenge. Pity the fool that gets on Tyrus Rechs' bad side. It's filled with action adrenaline junkies dream about. But, amazingly, it's also about the man behind the armor that's lived many lifetimes. The General that inspired such loyalty in his Legionnaires they followed him into the jaws of death without a blink of an eye. And now the outlawed bounty hunter, maligned by The Republic. When he's not giving you a thrill ride as he kicks ass and takes names, you get to know the quiet, contemplative, compassionate and honorable man as well. One that knows the Obsidian Crow's factory installed AI has never been comfortable with the nail biting, edge of your seat, nick of time demands he requires to get in and out of his ops. (It is a freighter, after all.) So when he makes the decision to change the AI out, he assures 'Ship' that it did a good job, that it's not being replaced because it failed and asks if it wants a quieter assignment instead. Once deactivated, he makes sure the AI will be sold to a cargo hauler that merely needs its jump coordinates calculated to placidly travel the spaceways. It's...a poignant exchange, touching even, knowing the depth that he cares the AI will get what it wants once it leaves his service. And then he goes after the dirtbags that did the wrong thing for the wrong reasons and Makes. Them. Pay. Oo Aah!

Requiem for Medusa is a gratifying and satisfying story, excellently narrated by Ray Porter. Don't miss it.

Rechs VS the universe!

WOW. Action packed, non stop violence, and just enough tragedy to humanise Rechs for the first time. When an old friend is killed, The T-Rex of the legion must track down her killers on a seedy space station known for violence and vice. A fantastic story.

well done!

I was hoping for more back story of the savage wars, but thats in another book. TRex is after he left the legion and before the events of season 1 of Galaxy's Edge. This was an epic story with a fitting ending.

Excellent story, excellent performance. Would have preferred RC Bray as I associate Ray Porter with Joe Ledger series. Overall a well written and performed audio book. Please can we have more books based in this universe.
