Maisey thought the worst thing to happen to her was insta-shaming or a midnight shift at the Crab Shack. Until she got dragged into the world of the gods. Or, more specifically, the world of one very annoying, bad at sarcasm, sex on legs titan. Cronus was everything she never knew she wanted, or needed, in her life. And then, he just left. After losing Cronus, Maisey had to make a choice; lay broken on the floor and sink into depression, or charge into the underworld and get her man back. Not one to sit around, she and Hyperion waltz into Thanatos‘s office and demand the god of Death give them safe passage through the seven levels of the underworld to retrieve her love. It seemed like a good idea at the time...but will Maisey be able to retrieve Cronus and resurrect him in time to finally take out Zeus? Maybe if a huge wrench hadn't been thrown in their plans.

Maddison James is about to discover some truths about the world. Firstly...supernaturals exist. WTF? Secondly...she is one, even though no one seems to know exactly what kind. Double WTF. Thirdly...she’s about to go back to school. Well, things just got a little more interesting. The Supernatural Academy is where shifters, vampires, magic users, and fey are educated. Where they are taught about their abilities, and how to function in the human world. Maddison already has the human part down, but this supernatural thing is an entirely new dangerous game.

It was an ordinary job. Another night, another asshole collector of the supernatural. I free some poor little beasties from their cages, pocket a few trinkets to pay my bills, and burn the place down on my way out. Just call me the Robin Hood of monster emancipation. I didn’t count on three manly monsters following me home like lost puppies. Stunningly hot lost puppies, but still. Now I’ve got a seductively cheeky incubus, a sweetly enthusiastic demon, and a grimly stoic angel camped out in my kitchen.

A thin veil of etiquette, elegance, and glamour hides the true nature of the Trials. Behind closed doors, they are brutal and bloody, and to fail means to forfeit her life. How could this series hey any better?
- By Dim on 19-07-2020
Publisher's Summary
It all started with a dare.
A single dare on Maisey Parker's 21st birthday and her entire life changed.
One second she was getting drunk with her friends, and the next she was climbing a cliff, cutting her hand, and accidentally offering a blood sacrifice that opened a thousand year old prison. A prison that contained the only living Titan. One too powerful to kill. One that wants nothing to do with being attached to Maisey.
Cronus has an old score to settle with the Greek Pantheon. Lucky she has some sick days saved up at work, because Maisey is dragged along whether she likes it or not. A decision Cronus no doubt regretted right around the time she makes a colossal mistake, unleashing an untold evil on the world.
Now they're in a race against the clock to resurrect the other Titans, the only beings who can contain the evil. They're the world's last hope. And Maisey's.

Nope too much ###
Jaymin Eve & Leia Stone are one of my favorites duo of co-writting authors. But sadly this book was not one of my favorites. The story by itself would have been awesome if not for the constant Hashtagging every few sentences. That sadly killed it for me. I don't know if listening to it via Audible made it worse but i will try to read the other books instead of listening to it maybe it will be less annoying. Vanessa Moyen did an excellent job narrating this book like usual i love her voice. So sad that that the constant # ruined it.

Extreamly Imature
This book is what's wrong with our generation I am the age of the main character, who is obsessed with posting herself Instagram (this is my biggest pet peeve) the book encourages young women to continue being so vane it disgusts me. She speaks very immaturely saying "hashtags" every paragraph. I could bearly get through the first chapter but dragged on hoping it would get better since I love fictions revolving around the gods but after chapter 5 I just couldn't do it. The book just pissed me off the whole time. Don't waste your time

#TooManyHashtags
Overall the story was good but the overuse of hastags got old really quick. No one talks like that and I had a hard time connecting with the lead because of that. The narrator did a fantastic job bringing the story to life. It would be a great read if 75% of the hashtags were removed

A very fun read
Finished it in a day and it made for a very enjoyable afternoon. The hashtag usage gets a little excessive at times, but it does add a certain amount of character and charm to the book that I enjoyed most of the time. The mythology in it was great, and the humor kept me thoroughly entertained. All in all definitely worth a read and I’ll be looking forward to the sequel.

Interesting, but a bit...
I found the story interesting, and I love Vanessa Moyen, but the story felt too rushed and there wasn't a lot of character development at the beginning. I also found all of the hashtag comments to be a little too much, but I'm not an Instagram follower so that could be why. I still really like Jaymin Eve's work and I'm looking forward to book 2, but I'll probably read it before I think about buying the audio.

#TooManyHashtags
I love this author duo + Vanessa Moyen narration combo, with the funny characters and stories told with excellent voice acting. It wasn’t any different with this story. This story is definitely reflective of a subset of today’s younger population and the selfie thing is pretty par for the course. I have no beef or judgement on that, especially because not all people who post selfies are vain and if they are that’s their business. The authors chose a very real character type and applied it well. But also, Maisy’s arc has the character maturing. Some of the relationship development felt like it jumped stages which didn’t always feel genuine but also wasn’t in your face either. I agree with another reviewer who said it felt a little bit rushed. But otherwise it’s a fun story full of twisted Greek mythology, Gods, and other creatures. That said, the hashtag crap is every few paragraphs and got Real Old, Real Fast. If it had been lightly sprinkled throughout the story I would have found it charming but the gag went overboard and dragged the whole ship on top of it. It took me out of the story nearly every time it happened because it was so overkill. While I truly adore her readings, I find there’s a mispronounced word with nearly every Vanessa Moyen narration I’ve heard. I don’t want to harsh on that too much because I’ve had my fair share of mispronunciations and it’s typically from learning a word by reading which is not something to slam, just more of a note that it happens and draws me out of the story. I feel that learning word pronunciations is important for a voice actor and I do wish that unfamiliar words were investigated a bit more.

Pretty good
I really liked this as an opening gambit for a larger series: it wasn't what I assumed it was right at the start of the book and like an avalanche, it built and built upon itself as the story went on. But my god, the FMC's inner monologue is annoying! All of the hashtags every other sentence actually hurt my brain and made her sound more like 16 than 21

Great book
I LOVED this book, it was entertaining and I felt the story was paced really well, a lot of these sort of books feel very rushed but this one got it perfect! The characters were lovable and I really enjoyed watching the heroine’s personality evolve throughout the book. I enjoyed the fact that Maisey wasn’t a typical heroine and wasn’t one of those ‘perfect and pure’ people, she had flaws which I felt brought her character to life. The one thing I would say would be the #tags. It was a nice touch but I felt it was just a little overdone and really stunted the flow of the story at points. But overall, would definitely recommend!

Amazing book
This is an amazing book! I’ll admit I’ve never been much into Greek god stories but this book just may have changed my mind about that. It brought enough modern day into mix with the mythology to keep me hooked the entire time. #givememore I can’t wait tell book 3 comes out.
