About this listen
Gideon Cross: As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn’t stay away. I didn’t want to. He was my addiction…my every desire…mine.
My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful…except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity.
We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession.…

much better then the 1st book

I cannot begin to explain how much I LOVE Sylvia Day and her crossfire series. I love the strength of Eva's character. She never lets herself become a victim but always fights for what she wants -- including Gideon. She's feisty, confident and fiercely independent and I adore her story.
Gideon Cross, the male protagonist is intelligent, strong and just plain SXC. Its clear how much he loves Eva and wants to have a life with her which means fighting his demons.
Sylvia Day -- she is just phenomenal. Her story is unique, angsty and kept me on my toes.
10/10 would read again.
Stuck in Gideon's Crossfire

Compared to the first book, this instalment places heavier emphasis on relationship conflict. Much of the first half centres on ongoing disagreements and miscommunication, which may feel repetitive for some listeners. While the characters make an effort to address their issues rather than avoid them, the pacing during this portion of the story is slower and more drawn out than in the previous book.
As the novel progresses, additional background information is revealed that provides clearer context for certain character motivations. This later section improves the overall balance of the story and adds important insight into past events that influence present decisions. The inclusion of therapy as a plot element is notable, even though its guidance is not always followed by the characters.
The audiobook narration by Jill Redfield is consistent and clear. Her delivery helps distinguish between characters and maintains a steady listening experience throughout, particularly during dialogue-heavy scenes.
Overall, Reflected in You expands the series by deepening character backstories and continuing long-term story arcs, though it relies heavily on sustained interpersonal tension. Listeners who enjoyed the first book may appreciate the added context and development, while those sensitive to prolonged conflict may find it less engaging. The conclusion sets up further developments for the next instalment in the series.
