Sebastian Frost’s most recent memory was waking up in a field naked, in a body that wasn’t his own, in a world that definitely wasn’t his own, and three stunning pointy-eared women staring right at him. He also remembered hair as white as starlight, eyes like amethysts, and the name Shalia. Fortunately, it was the right name to know. Shalia was the elves’ goddess, and that made him her herald.

Story
Eddie Hunter isn't stuck in the game Light Online, but if he wants to keep his job, he needs to stay there. It's not a hardship for him as he increasingly believes that his in-game life is far preferable to his out-of-game life. Working on a hidden development quest that he discovered by accident has him becoming more and more entrepreneurial even while running his own inn, but between him and his party, the Meadowlands is rapidly developing.
Publisher's Summary
Sam Sullivan has spent the last year of his life paralyzed. Unable to afford the state-of-the-art surgery needed to repair his spinal cord, Sam has lost all hope. But when the first fully immersive virtual-reality game goes live, Sam is given a second chance at life.
Rebirth Online offers players action, adventure, and a chance at real-world riches. If Sam can rise through the ranks and claim his kingdom, he just might be able to earn enough money to afford the surgery he so badly needs.
Sam enters Rebirth Online excited to begin his adventure, but within 15 minutes of spawning in the game, he is robbed, beaten, and left for dead.
He wakes to find himself in the care of Anna, a beautiful elf healer. Together, they discover that he has an unbelievable special ability, one that allows him to instantly level. To use it, he must grind - literally - with the girls in his guild. The only problem - a 12-hour cooldown.
As Sam's guild grows, he and Anna are joined by a beautiful human warrior, a feisty drow assassin, and a flighty female furry. But when a run-in with a high-level player named Kincaid ends with Anna's kidnapping, Sam and his girls must pull no punches to get their guildmate back.

Terrible story. Terrible reader
The performance, such as it is in this book is so bad. The plot is rushed with tons of things that don’t make sense, none of the characters develop let alone stand out distinct from each other and it’s just all so, so, so very bad. The worse Litrpg book I’ve ever come across.

Good ending but cheesy plot.
A good ending to a story can sometimes make up for a bad plot but not always, but I’m glad to report in this case it does. The storyline in this book it’s pretty much like every other litRPG and is not very creative. Other than the one plot element throwing in as an excuse to create a harem, the story is exactly the same as a dozen others I’ve read. Plus there’s a lot of inconsistencies in the technology they present I find it kind of funny that handicap people don’t have access to this technology in fact the company seems to not care about the potential publicity gain by providing this technology to the handicap world. This is just one inconsistency presented here but I can’t really criticize the story on that for many of the other stories I’ve read had the same inconsistencies. But all of that aside the only reason I gave this story four stars in the end was because it had a very good ending. Most of the times I rate a story based on how I feel at the end of the story. So take that as you’re will.

not for me
yeah, what can I say here so this doesn't make me sound moany. the story was ok for the first 40 minutes or so until it wasn't. at the point where it was revealed that the m.c had a bonk his way up the leveling system unique skill I was done. Tristan did a good job as usual but a decent narrator has been let down by a poor story concept.
