Publisher's Summary

A friendly, frank, compassionate and comprehensive companion for any woman experiencing menopause, or anyone wondering what to expect.

Every woman will eventually go through menopause—that's half the population of the planet! And yet it's something that is still not fully explored. It's held in shame for some women and ignored by others. It can be devastating to some and a call to freedom for others. After going through her own 'change', Alison Daddo wanted to explore all the feelings around menopause and especially the post menopausal years that so many women talk about as being 'the best years of their life'.

Through sharing her own experience in a very real way, Alison hopes that women won't feel so alone in what can be a very lonely time. Alongside stories from some very well-known Australian women (and the men in their lives), including Georgie Parker, Anita Heiss and Rhonda Burchmore, Queen Menopause is the guide Ali wishes she had when she was approaching menopause—so she could be more prepared for what was coming, embrace the process and feel supported.

Compulsory Reading!

Firstly I am not one to write reviews. I really want to congratulate and thank Alison Daddo for her vulnerability and bravery in writing this book. It is filled with golden nuggets of truth and wisdom from start to finish. I think (fingers crossed) I am the other side of my menopause journey however this book has validated everyone of my feelings and experiences - I know now everything I went through is normal! If you are contemplating purchasing this book just do it, I so wish I had these insights at the start of my ‘change’. In my opinion this book should be sent to every age appropriate woman/household/partner as a national service. Thank you Ally, it’s just brilliant x

Proud to now admit I’m a Queen

Absolutely loved this book!!
Being born in the 70s, purchasing Dolly Magazine each month throughout the 80s, idolising Alison Brahe while navigating puberty, I honestly felt like I was catching up with a long time best friend from the past.

The peri menopause symptoms are real, they hit me like a train, completely unexpected, obviously naive but no one spoke about this topic, a complete shock to me.

Thankyou Ally… Thankyou for your honesty, sharing your fears, your experiences, your darkest days. Thankyou for reminding us that there is a light at the end, to be kind to ourselves & that our best lives are yet to come. You truly are a Queen 🙌

Great journey on the go

I listened to this over a week of driving. Popping in and out of the car. Sometimes I kept it playing while unloading the shopping as there was a section I couldn’t wait to hear the end of. I enjoyed Ali’s calming voice describe many things I can relate to and now look forward to.

Loved Ally’s honesty and humour. My starting point to learn and think about menopause - would highly recommend to others starting out on this journey too.

Like a menopause vaccine!

Thank you Ali - your book is my new best friend through my menopausal roller coaster ride. I feel less alone, more understood, and have more tools in my tool belt. I’ve been recommending your book like crazy and it’s sparked more conversation with my girlfriends and community that makes a difference - we can share more belly laughs through this nutbag journey. Brava!!!!

Felt like she'd been inside my head!

I loved this! I've read several menopause books and I found this one really informative. It resonated with me more than any other I've read. At times it was like she was taking words out of my mouth! Every woman, and every person for that matter living with someone going through perimenopause and menopause should read this. I AM an Orca!!!!

Finally a book on the subject

Menopause is still a taboo not openly discussed I am glad having found it! I just couldn’t relate to the maternal loss since I was never able to have children, she should have been glad for the 3 children she has!
