About this listen
There is no weapon more powerful than the [Psychokinetic] mind.
Astrid, a mischievous noble teen, long dreamed of exploring the ancient cities preserved beneath the waves, left behind from a time before the ocean swallowed the world. She's been training all her life to become a magic swordsman capable of doing just that.
But when an ancient monster long thought dead assaults humanity's last bastion–a floating ship-city–she awakens her System early.
Only, she's not a warrior as expected. She's forced to walk the path of a [Psychokinetic] Mage.
With Spawn-infested oceans, pirates looking to plunder, and mysterious monsters that lurk within Bubbled-Cites at the bottom of the ocean, Safety is anything but guaranteed.
She’ll learn levitation, object throwing, eyeball pulling, and more, all the way to the apex of psychic powers.
But, what happens when she discovers that her world was a lot larger than she–and the rest of humanity, once thought?
Don't miss the start of this action-packed and often hilarious LitRPG Apocalypse series about a young survivor with a craving for adventure and fighting. Perfect for fans of Azarinth Healer and Eight.
About the series: Astrid wasn't expecting to awaken as a mage class, but that won't stop her from having fun. In fact, she'll no longer need to resort to laborious activities, including, but not limited to; picking up stuff, carrying stuff, or even throwing stuff. Everything can be done with her mind!
©2023 FreeID (P)2023 Recorded BooksThe story is very unique and full of interest, and I wasn't bored even for a second. There is next to no romance in this story, though I wish Astrid were in love with Lena, perhaps in future books. I know the Author isn't against same sex relationships as the high-end bar owner and brewer is in a f/f relationship.
This story has been brought to life in the very best way by a fantastic narrator, Amanda Dolan, I highly recommend her story telling abilities.
Lastly: It's nice to listen to a book that isn't focused on crude male/female relationships that too often occur in the Fantasy genre; thankfully, it's not in this book series at all.
AWESOME

Writing:
As a whole, and especially dialog is stilted.
Character personalities will change from scene to scene.
Some descriptions feel unnecessary, and others completely lacking.
Audio:
Felt like it lacked direction/a good editor, character voices in a single scene would change drastically.
Some line reads were great, and then in the same sentence there would be a massive break, or a sudden change of tone in the narration that would pull you out of the story.
Hopefully this series will be a good learning experience for the author and any new works they have going forward will have these problems polished out.
Seems like the have a great imagination for stories and worlds, and I would love to see more from them.
Final disappointment, when looking into the author I found there Royal Road and it appears they are using AI generated images for their new story.
I hope this is a mistake and is not also the cause of their stilted inconsistent writing.
Disappointing.
