About this listen

Once upon a time, in a cottage in a bunker in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, there lived a witch named Ophelia.

Ophelia, along with animal friends who live in her garden, creates a cozy life for herself. What’s better than books and tea? But then, one day, a knock comes at her door.

Join Ophelia and her two unexpected visitors for magical stories about spells, scones, a hedgehog, and the power of friendship.

This is a real change of pace from the Carly Stevens YA fantasy books I've become used to. It's sweet and not so dark! I really liked it. There is a dark edge though - this sweet world has been created within a post apocalyptic bunker. This gives rise to many unanswered questions - what happened? How did she get here? There is touch of enid blyton and wind in the willows. The narrator Christina Platt was perfect. I imagine this set in england due to the hedgehogs although I know the author is american. Carly is fast becoming one of my favourite authors and I'm enjoying following her evolution. Buy this audio book for a quick pick me up.
