Der Tischlermeister wollte ursprünglich ein Tischbein daraus machen, bis das Stück Tannenholz zu sprechen begann. Das kam Meister Zorntiegel wie gelegen, denn er war auf der Suche nach einem feinen Stück Holz, aus dem er ein Kasperle schnitzen kann. Meister Zorntiegel nahm das Tannenholz mit und begann zu schnitzen. Das kleine freche Tannenholz stellte sich mit dem Namen Pinocchio vor und begann wie ein richtiger kleiner Junge zu sprechen. Meister Zorntiegel schickt den Holzjungen in die Schule. Dann zeigt sich Pinocchios Vorliebe, neugierig in jede erdenkliche Schwierigkeit zu tappen...
