Story
Grace is the church's great distinctive. It's the one thing the world cannot duplicate, and the one thing it craves above all else - for only grace can bring hope and transformation to a jaded world. In What's So Amazing About Grace?, award-winning author Philip Yancey explores grace at street level. If grace is God's love for the undeserving, he asks, then what does it look like in action? And if Christians are its sole dispensers, then how are we doing at lavishing grace on a world that knows far more of cruelty and unforgiveness than it does of mercy?

Just as I Am is my truth. It is me, plain and unvarnished, with the glitter and garland set aside. Here, I am indeed Cicely, the actress who has been blessed to grace the stage and screen for six decades. Yet I am also the church girl who once rarely spoke a word. I am the teenager who sought solace in the verses of the old hymn for which this book is named. I am a daughter and mother, a sister, and a friend. I am an observer of human nature and the dreamer of audacious dreams.

Publisher's Summary
Are you suffering from “someday” syndrome - always waiting for someday when your schedule calms down, your finances improve, or your kids grow up so you can begin to live the life you’ve always dreamed of? Consider how your perspective would change if you found out you had just 30 days to live. After the initial shock, you’d probably resolve to squeeze all you could out of the days that remain. You’d stop wasting precious time, and you’d throw yourself into becoming the person God intended you to be.
Why wait to answer the longings of your heart? You can live this way now, thriving in a life of passion and purpose. In One Month to Live, Kerry and Chris show you how to stop waiting for “someday” and start making each day really matter. By taking their 30-Day Challenge, you’ll learn what it means to make the most of your time on earth and live life with no regrets.
In One Month to Live, learn the four principles for living a no-regrets life: Live Passionately (living each day as if it were your last); Love Completely (showing others love that transcends and transforms); Learn Humbly (growing through your problems and pain); and Leave Boldly (creating a legacy that will impact generations). One Month to Live explores these universal principles and provides questions for reflection to help you examine the core areas of your life and ultimately live the life you were made for.
Critic Reviews
"So many of us waste our lives with ‘when and then’ thinking, believing that ‘when’ this or that happens, 'then' we will really start living and do something for God that really matters. That approach is guaranteed to leave you with regrets. At the end of your life, the only thing that will matter is whether you accomplished God’s purpose for your life. Jesus was just 12 when he said, 'I must be about My Father’s business.' Barely 20 years later, he could say to the Father, 'I have completed the work you gave me to do.' If we all had that kind of focus and concentration in our lives, there's no telling what God could accomplish in the world! Kerry and Chris Shook want you to grasp that amazing insight: Embracing your mortality sets you free to live a meaningful and significant life without regret. One Month to Live is a great way to discover the purposeful, joyful, abundant life God created you to enjoy!" (Rick Warren, founding pastor, Saddleback Church, and author of international best seller, The Purpose Driven Life)
Kerry Shook is a friend, devoted father, supportive husband, and inspiring pastor. As one of today’s most gifted communicators, Kerry’s unique and creative style enables him to take the most complex issues and make them practical and relevant to daily living. He has a genuine love for people that is contagious. His ministry is changing the lives of individuals and families here in Houston and transforming communities all across the nation." (Joel Osteen, pastor of Lakewood Church and best-selling author of Your Best Life Now)
"Too many people live with regrets, missed opportunities, and dormant dreams. You don’t have to be one of them. Your life will be different if you apply the transformational principles in Kerry and Chris Shook's One Month to Live." (Craig Groeschel, Founding Pastor of Lifechurch)

This book is for Christians
This book makes a statement such as, "Live life to the fullest". The book relates that to a clich?, bible verse, and the writer’s personal anecdote. The writer then asks the reader to think about their life and categorize, quantify or asses a value to specifics about their life. Often the reader is asked to keep track of occurrences and document specifics about the related material. So if you are a Christian and would like to engage in some homework then this is the book for you. If you are not a follower of the Christian God then this book is not for you because it relies on the Christian Bible.

Idiotic Religious Drivel.
What would have made One Month to Live better?
Leaving out the references to the cosmic Jewish zombie who was his own father and actually including concrete real ways to achieve a better life.
What was most disappointing about Chris Shook and Kerry Shook ’s story?
Constant references to Jesus. If you don't believe, don't get this book.
