One Tier-1 Naval Special Warfare Operator, trained at the highest levels of any military, with 20-plus years of operational experience. One ex-cop civilian survivalist, who lived through two years of post-apocalyptic hell, unlike seven billion of her fellow humans. And an entire continent heaving with 400 million dead guys.

To save the lives of his children, and rejoin Alpha team and the fight to save humanity, Homer will have to journey across a thousand miles of undead North America with Sarah Cameron, battling heavily armed bands of marauders who shoot first and ask questions never, and ultimately face down the remains of the world's last surviving SEAL team - now led by a malevolent and piratical monster.

Fuchs and Bray have done it again!

I would give this entire series 10 stars if I could.
My only critique is that it ends, as I could truly listen to this series nonstop for hours, days, years to come, and still want more. Bravo, Mr. Fuchs!

Great Book

I thought this was another great book in the series. I just thought that Homer shouldn't have done what he did, because he killed a lot of people to survive and for him to find issues with the people who cared for his wife and kids for over 2 years was bullshit. What happened to the SEALS and the families left behind now that's also a problem. I think it would have been a better story if he went on the mission rather than killing his brothers who saved his life in the past. Great book over all.

Favorite series

Might have worked better if this part had been written sooner. The book started somewhat slow but gained momentum in second half. By the end I was into it like the rest of the series. Very good.

A great addition to the series

This was a great addition to the series. This book filled the blank hole of what happened to Homer on his trek to find his kids. as always Michael Stephen Fuchs does a superb job of writing and RC bray brings the story to life. If you have read or listened to this series you must get this standalone as well. Can t wait for more.

it was good, just short. I thought it would be a spinoff. I guess not.

Fuchs Scratches an Itch!

I think anyone who has read this series has probably wondered why Homer and Sarah's epic journey across North America to rescue his family was never covered in the original series. It's always seemed odd to me and it seems it's struck enough of a chord with Mr Fuchs too. This book now makes the series feel more complete.

This one isn't quite as fast-paced as the concluding the books in the series were . . . but then again, what is? It's still got plenty of action though and we learn a lot more about Homer's background in the Navy Seals.

It's a really good addition to the series although perhaps the journey itself wasn't quite as epic as it might have been though the last few hours are up there with the best of the rest of Arisen. Of course with RC Bray at the microphone it sounds just great too making it a worthy companion to this thrilling series.

Outstanding

This is just brilliant. Well worth a credit. The combination of Fuchs writing and Brays narration is like Spielberg and Hanks working together.
Just outstanding. I have no more words to describe it, hence I'm not a novelist.
Enjoy

More Alpha goodness

It was great to dive back into the Arisen universe once again and find out what happened to Homer and Sarah on their journey across the American ZA.

Michael Stephen Fuchs continues to add to an already brilliant storyline, although having read the entire series already it did take something away from the suspense a little given I knew how it would end.

Boring

I don’t need to know every single tiny detail of every single little thing that is going to happen.

‘Shall we do something?’
‘No, not just yet. Give me a few hours to explain what every acronym means, what this is, what that does and what I just did in the toilet.’

I don’t care, get a move on and just do it. Should have just been a short novella, a 5.5 or whatever.
