THE BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD
- By Anonymous User on 12-09-2017
Publisher's Summary
Nicotine Anonymous: Fifth Edition was published based on responses to this questionnaire. It was our first effort to describe how we recovered from this powerful addiction and how we maintained our abstinence. The second edition corrected many grammatical errors and changed some of the references of smoking to nicotine. The third edition includes the preface, A New Freedom—Rodger’s Story. The fourth edition includes a revised questionnaire section that combines and reorganizes the responses, an extended explanation of the twelve traditions, and our newly adopted seventh step prayer. The fifth edition includes some revisions to the text.
The Four Sections: Part I—"Our Story" draws from the responses of our members to the questionnaire. It describes our common and individual experiences, before and after attaining abstinence from nicotine, and is written in quasi-biographical form.
Part II—"Questionnaire and Quotable Quotes" contains a summary of individual and “notable” quotes from the responses to the questionnaire.
Part III—"Twelve Steps” describes our program of recovery from nicotine addiction, how we maintain our freedom from this powerful drug, and how we live more useful and happy lives.
Part IV—“ Twelve Traditions” is a guide to fundamental principles that guide our work in carrying the message of Nicotine Anonymous to the nicotine addict who still suffers.
