Another Courtney banger! Up there with Wilbur’s best. Movies need to be made, starting with Birds of Prey.

The narration was impeccable.
A rich book typical of Smith with memorable characters and wonderful imagery. I was swept along by the story and will enjoy this book over many times.
A touching bookend to the Courtney saga, it honors the stories of lives gone before. Sad we lost Smith but his beautiful tales remain.

An outstanding book!

I hope Wilbur and team keep releasing the Courtney series forever!

If you have followed this series from beginning to end and enjoyed it, you won’t be disappointed. It has everything the previous books had but sadly no more.

One side of the Courtney family battling another in vengeance and for their honour and of course to retrieve the Neptune sword to be held by the ‘good’ side of the family.

Recent generations coming up against each other battling long held generational hatred for each other, seeing and feeling a familiarity but not knowing who the other is at the time.

Immediate love at first sight between an incredibly handsome Courtney and the usual ‘never had he seen anyone more beautiful in his entire life’ woman also features.

I have loved Wilbur Smith’s work for more years than I care to remember (45+) but sadly as I have aged so has the timbre of his work.

Sad but true.

Predictable

What can one say about Wilbur Smith books except once you pick them up, they’re very hard to put down. I’m not a literary critic but I bought When The Lion Feeds around 1970, loved it and have read all his books as they’ve been released over the years since. I love that a lot of Mr Smiths writing, although fiction, are loosely based on fact. You get to really enjoy a good yarn and get a bit of an education at the same time.

Powerful story

Great series. Well written. Factual information as usual cannot wait until the next in the series is written. Hopefully by an author as good as Wilbur now he has died.
