Publisher's Summary

Did you know that children of narcissistic parents often grow up to feel responsible for the needs and behavior of others?

A narcissistic personality disorder is one of a few kinds of character issues and is a state of mind where individuals have their very own swelled feeling of importance, a profound requirement for over the top consideration and appreciation, troubled relationships, and an absence of empathy for other people. In any case, behind this cover of extraordinary certainty lies delicate confidence that is defenseless against the smallest criticism.

This book is different from the rest because it includes all the issues related to narcissistic abuse in childhood and because it was written to be narrated (audiobook). It delves into the nitty-gritty of what narcissistic parents do to their children, their manipulation techniques and how it affects the children till adulthood. It shows the signs to look for whether you were abused or are being abused presently without you knowing it. Some of its contents are:

  • Some tactics narcissistic parents use
  • Healing yourself if raised by narcissistic parents
  • Types of narcissists
  • Healing phases of narcissistic abuse
  • Differences between narcissism and confidence

This book is for people who are now coming to understand why their childhood was not like every other child out there. If you believe something was wrong during your childhood but can’t put a finger on it, then you should get this book. It will show you what was really out of place and the techniques to heal yourself and become the adult you were meant to be. It answers questions like:

  • How do I change my mother/father?
  • How do I respond whenever they text or call?
  • Is it possible to break free from a narcissistic relationship?
  • What do I do to heal from growing up with a narcissistic parent?
  • And more!

informative but hard to understand

Maybe its my own knowledge of advanced grammar or this was literature for colleagues of hers. The text was difficult and i often found myself needing to pause or rewind to try and understand words or look them up. It was very enlightening though from what i did understand.

Beneficial

It's been a great understanding. I've gone through it in a couple of hours, but I'm planning to do a deeper understanding. It's a great way forward for every girl ever ruled and wondered if it was me!

Great book

I never knew that there was a name for the brand of hell that was being raised by my mother. The concept of maternal narcissism was introduced to me fairly recently, and about 9 months after I had gone no contact with my own mother after realizing she would never change.

This audio book is just what I needed

This audio book is just what I needed. I have been trying to diagnose my mother for years by listening to self-help audio books I could find and thought she had a borderline personality disorder, but it turns out that narcissism fits her behaviour perfectly.

This book really helped to recovery

For anyone who grew up with the feeling that they will never be good enough for their mother, always criticized by their mother and even as an adult feel her critical influence over them, this is the book you need to listen to. It is NOT a book that rips these types of mothers to shreds. It acknowledges the problem, gives real-life examples and discusses how being brought up under an overly critical mother can affect you, but the main focus of the book is the fact that the past is the past, your mother is not going to change and now it is time for you to heal. This book really helped to put things in perspective and see how I can be a person totally separate from my mother.

Great book.

Great book. Lots of insight into why my mother is the way she is and most importantly how to handle it. Now that I am a mother I am working hard not to continue the cycle of dysfunction. Learning to reparent myself has been very therapeutic. If you have daughters and are a daughter of an NPD this is a must-listen. Its a hard listen, but still an important one. It's one I will return and listen again if I start to slide into the unconscious phrases I was raised with "You make me so..." "look what you made me do..." "If only you weren't so, ... I would be better ..." It was eye-opening to really see how unconscious these phrases are even if you aren't a full-fledged NPD. (their traits and phrases still rub off on us.) Be kind to yourself throughout this journey and know you are good enough, you always were. Love love love

Great book. Helped me understand my lifelong relationship with my mother, and put it in perspective. She'll never change, but I have in the way I react to her and it's helped me quite a bit.

This will help you SO much.

This book does not disappoint. It explains absolutely EVERYTHING about your personality and relationship with your narcissistic mother. It explains everything about all relationships. My only regret is that I was blind to my mother's narcissism until my late 40s. Twenty and thirty-somethings - this will help you SO much.

Special Disarm the Narcissis Mothers Book..

I'm satisfied and Impress also from this guide. The kind of abuse victims lives through leaves behind emotional and psychological scars. Imagine loving someone with the very thing you have, only for them to leave you nothing but a shell of yourself. You can barely recognize yourself by the time you get the courage to walk out of such a relationship. Overall excellent!

Every DONM should get this book.

Every DONM should get this book. If you have struggled with a narcissistic mother, you should purchase! I have read on and studied information on narcissistic personality disorder for two years solid. There was still loads of new information for me in this book. The writings help to understand and heal from a very big, gaping open wound.. Right after Jesus, this book is the most helpful thing I have found in healing from my mothers abuse and the resulting PTSD.

This book was like a therapy session and support

This book was like a therapy session and support group for those of us who have been through the above. I only wish I could visit the author in person but know I will benefit from their insights and revisit this book.
