About this listen

Mrs Bradley, sharp-eyed detective and celebrated psychiatrist, has decided to spend Christmas with her nephew at his beautiful house in the Cotswolds. It isn’t long before a mystery unfolds.

I enjoyed this story, liking the narration and the text. The darkness of the crime balanced by the distance of time and the wit of the author.

Enjoyable Golden Age British detective story.

Nothing like the MrsBradford mystery tv show, but all the better for it. Mrs. Bradford is delightfully unique for her times, sharp, clever, able to be kind or kick you in the pants if needed. This story is set around Christmas making it a perfect cosy mystery to listen to in winter. The reader did not rush and gave the characters recognizable voices, very easy to listen to.

Enjoyable period mystery

Unfortunately strange portrait of detective Mrs Bradley described as ‘leering’, ‘cackling’ etc as if a witch. Story ok if rather drawn out. Not for anti-hunting campaigners!

Unsympathetic detective
