Publisher's Summary

MumLife; noun: the inescapable swirling vortex of love, guilt, joy, annoyance, laughter and boredom that makes up the life of a mum.

Louise Pentland has been through a lot. From a traumatic birth with her first daughter, to single motherhood, to finding love again and having a second child, Louise's parenting journey has been full of surprises.

Discussing the realities most working mums face, plus the impact of maternal mental health, Louise is on a mission to make other mums feel less alone and very much heard. She beautifully reveals her own imperfect but perfect route to motherhood, as well as the loss of her mum so early in her life, how it shaped her and the mother she became.

Reflective, uplifting and with her signature hilarious wit, MumLife will share Louise's ups and downs, reflecting on her route to motherhood and what she has learnt along the way. This is the honest truth, from someone who's been there and experienced it all.

For each book sold Bonnier Books UK shall donate 1 percent of net receipts and Louise Pentland shall donate 100 percent of her royalties to the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, registered charity number 216401).

Warm, emotional, with heaps of wisdom

Really enjoyed lovely Louise Pentland narrating her story. I found myself often with a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes, not only for the tough parts of her life but for the loving stories of her children and cherished family and friends. Louise has much wisdom to convey to us all about how to love, nurture and listen to our loved ones. As well as how to carry yourself with humour and an open heart.

Honest and Insightful

The author narrates this beautifully, you live every story that she tells well and truly with her. She talks openly and candidly about the joys and struggles of parenthood. The book is funny and uplifting, but also tackles some hard topics like abuse and death which I found hard to listen to at times, but they’ve brought an awareness to me that I appreciate.

A lovely listen

Louise has written a special “mumoir” that is so enjoyable to read. Even the parts about the sad times give us an insight into what made Louise, Louise. I’m not a mum (yet -hopefully one day when I meet my own prince) but this book was still a wonderful way to spend my time. Highly recommend to all.

Bloody brilliant book!!

Loved everything about this book and it was an absolute pleasure to have Louise read the story to me, just as it was intended, tears and all.

Side note to the audio editor:
- Tough Times: around 14:43 (repeated phases)
- Dear Pearl and Darcy: 1:56 (repeated phases)
- End Credits: Not exactly sure what the 20 mins of a different narrator was all about.

not for me

Could not finish the audio book.
I found narrator /authors voice to be very grating. She came across as non genuine and unnatural.
