Publisher's Summary

MumLife; noun: the inescapable swirling vortex of love, guilt, joy, annoyance, laughter and boredom that makes up the life of a mum.

Louise Pentland has been through a lot. From a traumatic birth with her first daughter, to single motherhood, to finding love again and having a second child, Louise's parenting journey has been full of surprises.

Discussing the realities most working mums face, plus the impact of maternal mental health, Louise is on a mission to make other mums feel less alone and very much heard. She beautifully reveals her own imperfect but perfect route to motherhood, as well as the loss of her mum so early in her life, how it shaped her and the mother she became.

Reflective, uplifting and with her signature hilarious wit, MumLife will share Louise's ups and downs, reflecting on her route to motherhood and what she has learnt along the way. This is the honest truth, from someone who's been there and experienced it all.

For each book sold Bonnier Books UK shall donate 1 percent of net receipts and Louise Pentland shall donate 100 percent of her royalties to the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, registered charity number 216401).

Fabulous relatable book

Loved listening to this book read by Louise. The story was very relatable, Louise’s voice easy to listen to and after sampling many many books of this genre I’m thankful I choose this one to purchase.

Honest and Insightful

The author narrates this beautifully, you live every story that she tells well and truly with her. She talks openly and candidly about the joys and struggles of parenthood. The book is funny and uplifting, but also tackles some hard topics like abuse and death which I found hard to listen to at times, but they’ve brought an awareness to me that I appreciate.

Warm, emotional, with heaps of wisdom

Really enjoyed lovely Louise Pentland narrating her story. I found myself often with a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes, not only for the tough parts of her life but for the loving stories of her children and cherished family and friends. Louise has much wisdom to convey to us all about how to love, nurture and listen to our loved ones. As well as how to carry yourself with humour and an open heart.

Bloody brilliant book!!

Loved everything about this book and it was an absolute pleasure to have Louise read the story to me, just as it was intended, tears and all. Side note to the audio editor: - Tough Times: around 14:43 (repeated phases) - Dear Pearl and Darcy: 1:56 (repeated phases) - End Credits: Not exactly sure what the 20 mins of a different narrator was all about.

Truthful, raw and absolutely amazing

If you are an oldie but goldie or simply new here, this book is something you absolutely should read or listen to! Louise recalls her childhood, the abuse she had lived through after the passing of her mum, the traumatic birth of her first daughter, going through a divorce as a young mum whilst maintaining her online job, dating as a single mum and finding another love and having another daughter. She also sprinkles (hehe get it?) advice, tips and raw honest truths throughout each segment and although some topics were truly heartbreaking, she still manages to bring the reader/listener back with her down to earth humour and stories. This book would be fab for any mum, mum-to-be, young adult or older gal! 10/10. I’d also like to thank Louise for opening up and sharing her life with us, your dear mum would be so proud of you x

Amazing listen!

Wow Louise! What a listen. You’ve certain had a life to talk about so at. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to your audio book. What an emotional listen. There were tears, more than once. I only discovered Louise this summer when she was promoting this book on TV and liked her instantly. This is a great story of MumLife with some harrowing, scary, sad and happy moments! Some bits relatable and (thankfully) some not. A story of lady who really should be proud of where she finds herself today 💕

Fantastic from Louise!

I’ve followed Louise for years over on YouTube (way back when to Sprinkle Of Glitter) and haven’t read her other books but thoroughly enjoyed this. Some very hard chapters to get through with some sudden realisations along the way but so beautifully written and spoken! 5 stars all round.

Whiny and overdramatic

I find her overdramatic and patronising. Real hard single mum life would end her!

Amazing & brave story to tell

I absolutely loved this. From the disastrous dates as a single Mum, opening up about the 2 very different births of her daughters, talking so lovingly about her Late mother and the abuse suffered as a young girl. Louise has shared so much, I want to applaud her for doing so in the hopes it’ll encourage other sufferers to seek help & support. Full of all the emotions imaginable. Absolutely brilliant!

Funny,sad and everything else

This book made me laugh , cry and remember pelvic floor exercises are important.I can definitely say a book has never done all those things for me before. It’s a great read and you don’t need to be a mum to enjoy I’m a 21 year old without any children and I though it was great and that it may help me prepare for one day when I want to have kids like what to expect and to remember I have rights over what happens to my body.
