Publisher's Summary

Sequel to Solitude, the ABR Listeners Choice: Best Sci-Fi of 2018

Following the incredible events of Solitude, Vaughn and Angela must probe the depths of space and time to unravel and perhaps even reverse the enigma of humanity's disappearance. But first, they must get past themselves.

If you enjoyed Solitude, you'll love the action and plot twists in this apocalyptic epic.

Vaughn had visions of plying the seven seas with Angela at his side. Then she and fate crapped all over his plans. Bent on discovering the truth about what happened to humanity and the rest of the world's life, Angela drags a less-than-willing Vaughn across the Mediterranean and into central Europe. However, even the overhead presence of a line of levitating steel structures and ships couldn't prepare them for what lied ahead. The size and scale of what they find in Geneva rocks them to their cores.

Angela and Vaughn fall into the center of a world-consuming machine. While struggling to survive, they wander through a looping chain of utterly alien lands. When they finally deduce the true nature of their situation, Angela discovers a potential way out, not just for her and Vaughn but all of Earth's life.

Angela can bring back the whole of the human race!

But only if she and Vaughn can survive the journey home.

This is a true sci-fi

Could not stop listening. Thrilling, unexpected, fast paced. I have not read or listened to a good sci-fi book for a long time- until now. Just got part 3 to this series . Looking forward to dive in.

Amazing

Those who are familiar with Dean’s Books going to love this next addition to the series. Knowing how long we have to wait to the next book is going to be hard after reading this one, was a really great pace set from the beginning and throughout the book. The storyline has expanded from the first book in greater detail but still leave so many questions answered or waiting for the next book. Those who like epic space battles, space military books are going to enjoy this hats off to Dean for another amazing book.

WOW THAT WAS JUST WOW

Well that was Book 2. MULTITUDE. If you want a book that picks you up and carries you along in the story, this is the book. There were times where every hair on my arms and neck stood up, other times I laughed with the two main Characters and there were times where I even shed tesrs. I haven't read a book with so much punch in a long while. Multitude is a book that's up there with the best.

Entertain but a bit flat and fantastical in parts

Good fun and Cole writes action very well. At times the story is a bit too erratic to let me suspend disbelief but he pulls it together in the end. I know that the lead characters are supposed to be somewhat floored and one dimensional .. but they are a bit too thick-headed at times to really draw me in.

Hard to Follow

This one was a mission for me to get through. While I enjoyed the first book, I found this one far more confusing and difficult to follow during the middle portion of the story.

Got half way through...

Maybe this second book is targeted at kids; the main characters are so annoyingly dim, the dramatic scenes are telegraphed and over explained. Everything is over the top with big dramatic pauses. Ugh! was this the same author?

the first book was better

Evil robots was a disappointed cliche, the first book was much more enjoyable and full of possibilities for a more intricate original follow up story.
I still want to know what happens next and will purchase the next book... but I don't consider this story anything new nor set apart from many already existing si-fi novels.

Poor sequel

I thought the first book was great, but this second book is second-rate.
Considering the characters are meant to be a mature pilot and an astronaut/physicist they behave like small children which is annoying.
The concept is good but the story is poorly executed. Shame.
I'll just have to read the first book again.

Good, but at times a little annoying.

An interesting plot with some excellent narration makes for an enjoyable listen, but not with its annoyances. The writer keeps adding delays at key reveal points in an attempt to add suspense, but all it really adds is frustration. The two main characters, a scientist and a test pilot one would assume to be intelligent, yet when they finally reach their “eureka” moment, the average reader would have deduced the same thing three chapters earlier!
