Publisher's Summary

An unwelcoming adventure.

Tag dreams of forging his own path as he works on his father's modest farm. But, the dream becomes a nightmare when a troop of black-armored men arrive and begin shedding blood. He is forced to go on the run to preserve his life and all he has with him is his father's mowing scythe. He is alone and wanders the woods, but he won't remain by himself for long.

Soon, he meets with and joins a growing force of resistance who stand against the invaders. But, quickly they encounter even more troubles, for in the mountain pass in which they camp there lurks ravenous creatures.

Caught between two dangers, Tag and the resistance must fight with all they have to survive.
