Publisher's Summary

Building walls around your heart is much easier than breaking them down.

Katherine Jones has said goodbye to her old job as a luxury lesbian escort and embarked on a new adventure with her best friend Rocco: opening a third branch of the Pink Bean coffee shop.

Rocco's aunt, Hera Walker, is tasked with renovating the building of the new Pink Bean. It's Hera's first job after recovering from the sudden death of her long-term partner and she finds it hard to reconnect with her former life. Her first new client being an ex-call girl isn't exactly helping.

Can Hera find the open-mindedness to see Katherine for who she truly is? And will Katherine, who has never suffered fools gladly, be able to break down the wall Hera has built around her?

Contains mature themes.

Wow

I love this series and this book does not disappoint. Sparks fly when Katherine Jones, soon-to-be barista and retired "escort" meets Hera Walker, her best friend and business partner's aunt and the contractor they hire to bring the new Pink Bean to life. It's a poignant exploration of our internal prejudices, where they come from, how they are expressed and how we can walk through them. Hera's journey is inspiring. Katherine is lovely and the supporting cast of characters are a delight. It's also great to see a vibrant, sexually hot woman in her 50s in a romance novel. Well worth the listen.

Emotionally Charged!

Another great one by Harper Bliss. I’m rarely disappointed by her work! I agree with most that it was too short. There was so much more I wanted to explore and learn about Hera! The sex is always hot in her books. An aspect I hope she continues. She writes it so well. But this story was so perfectly emotionally engaging that I felt more drawn to the characters and their stories than to the love scenes. Really great book. Read it straight through!

Every Harper Bliss book is a party

And this one s no different. but it was too short, and ended leaving me wanting more. I would have liked to know a little more about Cat and Hyra after the end of the book. So I guess MS Bliss will have to write a number 10 Coffee Bean... And Angela Dawe? What can I say about her, she has this sexy voice that goes directly to...

Exceptional

An amazingly compelling story with so much love, angst and intensity! I have no words about how well written this book is and how beautifully narrated by the legend that is Angela Dawe

New Life - New Love

Kate and her best friend Rocco are going to be partners in opening the third Pink Bean. Rocco’s aunt is a contractor who will help them redo their new business space. Kate is a former escort for lesbians. Hera is a widow whose partner died a year ago and who can’t see past Kate’s former profession. Great characters and performance. Recommend Series.

Love Harper Bliss!

I always enjoy Harper Bliss audiobooks. I know the writing will be well thought out, characters will be likeable, and the sex scenes will be on point. This book was just as great as I expected it to be. I dont want to ruin any surprises from the book, but I'll let you know when this audiobook ended I was in my car and I yelled, "C'mon. Really?!!" wish the book was just about 5 minutes longer :( great narration!!!

Good story - SUPERLATIVE narration!

Harper Bliss is simply one of the finest romance authors around. Her ability to take a character - be it the President of France, or an Australian call girl - and make her into a believable human being with real needs and desires is nothing short of remarkable. Like much of the Pink Bean series, this story effectively explores the themes of societal expectations and prejudices and their effects on people and relationships. The descriptions of the characters, their feelings, and desires are finely wrought and woven together in a viable plot that feels as if it were drawn from real life. That being said, The end of the book feels somewhat rushed and abruptly ends in a matter which I can only describe as "ante-climactic". Angela Dawe - what can I say? Ms. Dawe is a wonderful reader who gives each of the myriad characters in the Pink Bean series an individual voice and fills each story with moving emotion and hypnotic sensuality. In her performance of this book, she truly brings it. I would have leapt to my feet to give her a standing ovation, but was stuck to my chair in awe of how truly amazing her narration was. Superlative - that's what I can say.
