A good book made better by the narrator

So, I was never really a fan of harem until I started reading the likes of Arand, Jinx, Crash, Hawke, etc., but the more I have, the more I come to really enjoy these stories. Especially when they include the game elements into the story line.

This one hit what I was looking for, specifically monster girls. Dalton Wade is a wrestling champion (think WWF) and he is pretty hardcore. During a match he ends up in a whole new world where his adventures start right away.

I read this author's last book, Mixed Martial Cultivator, and you can tell that he is improving in his overall writing style with each one. I was sad when he took this one off of Royal Road since I enjoyed following its progression there.

The main character is a no nonsense, hardcore dude who you may call overpowered, but it doesn't mean that he does not face challenges throughout the story.

The girls introduced in this book are fun and each have their own distinct personalities which I enjoyed as well.

The action is well written and pretty brutal at times. There is not a lack of description in that area.

Speaking of no lack of description, if you can't handle detailed sex scenes, like very detailed sex scenes, then you should probably know that going into this one. This is not a fade to black harem story.

Added to my original ebook review: Gilliland is a very talented narrator. I was a bit hesitant with a harem book being narrated by a male, especially for the female voices, but he absolutely nailed it, and after I got a couple chapters in I didn't even notice.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story, and I will definitely be picking up the next book in this series as soon as it is out.

First Harem Audiobook and now I'm hooked

Monster Girl Galaxy gets going quickly and has a lot of great action. The narrator does a fantastic job with the various voices, I was very impressed. I will certainly be listening to the next one and a few more in the genre.

A fun sci-fi harem adventure

I wasn't sure what to expect as this was my first book I have listened to by Austin Beck. It was a great pallet cleanse from my normal reading. It's a book that doesn't take itself too seriously and extenuates the absurdity in the genre. I was laughing nearly the entire time. Great book, highly recommend it.

Good Story! With ok narrating

The story was good! Original take on going to another world. I enjoyed all of the characters. Don’t really have any complaints about the story itself.
The narration was ok. Christian did a decent job. It would have made the book far better if he worked with a female narrator for all of the female dialogue. He does a decent job on different voices, but there is only so much a guy with his type of voice can do...
One other thing to note is all of the whistling. A lot of the words he says that have S’s, have a whistle to them. If you’re wearing headphones be prepared. They’re vicious...
All in all it’s a good book with decent narrating. Looking forward to book two. Hopefully with a duo narrating team.

Wow...Just wow

So...I came into this book with...no expectations. I was pulled into the story initially. That said, there are some problems. To start us off, this book is effectively the exact same book that the exact same author wrote under the title "Martial Arts Cultivator". No, I have not read that book. I did read the description, and it is seriously the same book. It is an Isekai style story, with a martial artist type super hot, super-rich, super talented, Gary Stue character that the author is clearly trying to live a fantasy through. I would be willing to bet that the characters in MAC are just as flat and lifeless, with a plot just as nonexistent as this book. The characters in Monster Girl Galaxy are unbelievable two-dimensional caricatures, with no real motivation behind what little plot there is. The Main Character flits around from plot point to plot point accomplishing basically nothing, while earning all the benefits as he deserves them. This book breaks the rule of show don't tell more times than I care to count. In summary, if this was an anime, I'd have different expectations, and probably judge it less harshly. Sadly, it's a book, and I am judging like I would any other piece of novel-style writing.

great new series

I think the description does not do it justice. the mc is not a totally arrogant asshole. yes a wwf champion does not sound good but he is not an overpowered one hit wonder. he gets his jaw shattered in his first sparring session. the characters are cool. the plot is cool not deep like save the universe but a clear goal. I will definitely get the second book. I am very very pleased with this authors 2 selections on audible so far. thanks. the narrator does a great job. yes his deep voice is pleasant and the female voices are different enough to make a great listen. excellent combination.
