About this listen
A must-listen dating guide for building confidence and finding lasting love!
Dating can be fun, exciting, draining, disorienting, dangerous, and more. And if you're one of the millions of people in the market for a new partner (or two), how can you make sure that your dating life is more exhilarating than exhausting?
Enter Modern Dating for Dummies, a straightforward and friendly guide to getting the most out of contemporary dating without ending up as a cautionary tale in the next catfishing documentary on your favorite streaming service. Author Tiff Baira, NYC's official TikTok Cupid and dating guru, walks you through how to date like a champ. You'll learn how to sort the Red and Green flags, how to keep your confidence high (or get it back), protect against outright scams and frauds, and navigate new kinds of relationships.
Whether you're looking for help on how to date after the end of a long relationship or you just need a few tips on how to use apps, flirt, get out of a situationship or how to find your next hookup-slash-soulmate-slash-spouse, Modern Dating for Dummies has the info you can put to work immediately to make your dating life better, easier, and more fun.
©2025 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. (P)2025 Tantor MediaAs for the content, although the book claims to be designed for all ages, it felt more targeted toward people in their 20s to early 30s. I also found that it didn’t always explain modern dating terms clearly, which is something I expected from a “For Dummies” title. In a book aimed at beginners, I would have liked more straightforward explanations, especially in the chapter about dating apps. It would have been helpful if the author named and described the apps being referenced instead of assuming the reader already knows them.
Overall, the book does include some light humour and has a few useful points, but I personally felt outside the intended audience. I finished it with more questions than answers, and the writing style sometimes felt more like a blog than a structured beginner-friendly guide. I think this could have rated higher if it didn’t market itself so strongly as a “For Dummies” style book.
Helpful, but Not Quite “For Dummies”
