Publisher's Summary

My name is Katniss Everdeen. Why am I not dead? I should be dead.

Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Gale has escaped. Katniss’ family is safe. Peeta has been captured by the Capitol. District 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding.

It is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has long been part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans - except Katniss.

The success of the rebellion hinges on Katniss’ willingness to be a pawn, to accept responsibility for countless lives, and to change the course of the future of Panem. To do this, she must put aside her feelings of anger and distrust. She must become the rebels’ Mockingjay - no matter what the personal cost.

love this book

Love this book, all the characters and the story even though it's sad, it shows how perverse can the human kind be and also shows that we need to stand and fight against the opressor.

Bittersweet end to the trilogy.

Not as good as the previous books. However it is still
a somewhat satisfying end to a fantastic trilogy.
Tatiana Maslany’s performance is amazing. She captures Katniss’s darkness and hope perfectly.
Definitely recommend to fans of the the hunger games and mockingjay.

Heartbreaking.

So many reviews say that this is the worst of the trilogy, but, for me anyway, this is right up there with the rest, just in a different way. There is no way that anyone could stay the same having endured what Katniss and Peeta endured and I think Suzanne Collins reflected that in the way Katniss is in this. She is heartbroken, depressed, sad, guilty and everything else and it's all battling inside her head. She is broken and maybe nothing will bring her together, but she is trying! My heart broke for her so many times, my heart broke for Peeta, my poor broken heart broke some more for their relationship and then my heart shattered at the end!! No matted how many times I read this book, it never fails but to affect my emotions!!

“You love me. Real or not real?" *Sigh*

Again, Tatiana Maslany narrated this brilliantly. She made Katniss come alive here and portrayed her brokenness perfectly.

Anyway, this series is phenomenal and I urge everyone to try it at least once!

Worth it

Tatiana Maslany was the perfect choice for these books. Listening to them with her narrating brought Katniss and all the horror that was her life and makes it sound real. Don't listen if you don't want to cry.

love the story and love the narrator

I've listened to the hunger games series at least a dozen times via a disc set I bought but this was the first time I've heard it read by Tatiana and it was soooooo much better. the parts I thought were narrated oddly by the other reader, i didn't think much of except to make fun of by how oddly it was read. now that I've heard Tatiana narrate, i will never go back. With the other narrator I was distracted by her odd choices of emotion at times that didn't fit Katniss's character , but with Tatiana's reading, I cried several times when I've never cried reading or listening to this series in the many before. she's pulled the emotion from deep in her soul for this one and I know it will stick with me. 😭

I recommend this book to everyone. Although it is set in a future timeline the lessons of the 3rd book, this book are timeless. The narrator for these three books is amazing. I wish could have done some of the other books I have read

Tatiana Maslany is the One Ring

This book is a stark, dark look at the depths of humanity. I appreciated this story much more thinking of it as a commentary on power and manipulation. It’s also a good statement on how much we lose when we go to war. Soldiers on both sides deal with trauma and horror for years.

As always, Tatiana Maslany is nothing short of #bossstatus. She injects an emotion into the reading that enriches the story at every level. She truly brought the story and pain to life.

The only book that can make me luage amd cry

I loved all 3 book but at the end i was crying there was only 2 minits left by then i knew gale was never coming back. I never liked peta since the moment he was reaped i wish gale went with catniss then gale woud just be a baker however if this happend so many things woud be diffrent like in book 1 woud gale gang up with the carries or find kateniss only i will never know i cant setel for this ending all the lives that had been lost and rewind where all used. katniss was USED coin may be ded but she never went throug all that tramer like the hunger games, quter quell and the deth of everone she knew no meber of district 13 had that not even spme reffuge from a poor disstrict like 9. But panem will never be perfec whenever i hear the hanging tree i cry. And aftrer this horrible end with peta and kateniss, rue, prim, gale, catos, foxtace, thrasher, finnic, prims dad and mom, finnic, morped victors, plutearc, snow cian especially will never be there i am so upstet if you just sperd a life even id it was a carrier like clove and cato from book 1 glimmer woud be better then nothing but oveoisly after all this truma she needs to stay in 12 at the victors villege were no one will visit to be hoest i think the reson for poor cians deth was the mayors dougter if she never gave kateniss the pin or peta was not reaped kateniss wpud be a happy littel peic in snows games but sadliy after reading this book i feel snow is good and its small things like ppl from district 13 who are the real villains. In district 12 nobody can heare your screams

Every bit as good as anticipated

Last in the Trilogy that holds its own against its two brilliant predecessors.
Captivatingly dark with a great twist or two. Ends far too quickly.
Both the book and the performance are a pleasure to listen to and I will certainly revisit.
