Publisher's Summary

Alright, listen in!

The number one best-selling author of First Man In and The Fear Bubble is back with his most inspirational work yet.

After 13 years in the military, including four in the UK’s elite Special Forces as a sniper, Ant Middleton was the epitome of military excellence. Since leaving the military, he has climbed Everest, sailed 3,500 miles in a gruelling recreation of the mutiny on the Bounty and become a best-selling author and TV host. He’s been around the block a few times, and he’s learnt a thing or two along the way.

Mind over Muscle is a summation of all of these experiences. It’s the lessons gleaned from a colourful life, filled with extreme challenges. In this Audio Original, Ant Middleton shows you how to build up the most important source of strength you have: the power of your mind. Condensing his philosophy into four simple-to-grasp pillars, he then challenges you to go out there and live it.

Using the tools of the four pillars, you’re ready to take on the Mindset Challenge. A revolutionary new concept, only possible in audio, the Mindset Challenge is a 28-day training plan for the mind. Each day, Ant will challenge you to embrace fear, be positive, take ownership of situations, learn to lead and have integrity.

There are two lives you could be living. The one you’re living now. And the better version that’s just a thought away. Push yourself further than you’ve pushed before, and become the best version of yourself.

Too repetitive

I did enjoy the over-all concept but I found this book way too repetitive. Struggled to finish.

Terrible

I don’t like to leave negative reviews but this book is so terrible I think it would be dishonest not to leave a review. This whole book is so repetitive it’s taking the piss. All the information in this book would fit on an A4 sized piece of paper the rest was a waste of time

Well intended anecdote

Ant intends to pass on his knowledge and experience with the four pillars and the mindset challenge however it all seems just his personal experience and not anything that's been researched through psychology, science and other forms of justification of fact. I thought the mindset challenge at times was hard to make out and follow. Ant narrates well and I still learned a few things about and bettered myself by listening to this book

Mindset forever changed

What a great book!
I’m always looking to learn and develop and being a fan of Ant Middleton and his other two books, I was optimistic going into this one given that it is a different style to his previous.

It has legitimately changed my mindset in the time it took to listen to the book and it’ll continue to change it as Ant teaches you the way to think positively and live by a set of values.

The only downside is whilst they are good values they may not be your core values to live by.

Veterans - you need this!

I’m ex-forces and found it extremely hard to enter ‘civvi street’ when I left. In the forces we are taught to obey, do and reset ready to go again.

You live under a military blanket and push feelings aside!

Getting back in touch with who you are, even if you weren’t in the military, is something everyone needs to do... especially in this world we live in!

The first part is epic - I’ll report back after trying the 28 day challenges!

Great book Ant! Top man!

Disappointed

If you’ve read/listened to Ants previous books this addition will be nothing new. Most of the story’s and examples Ant gives in this book have already been told in his previous books. I’m a big fan of Ant and all he has achieved but found myself a little disappointed with the lack of content.

Repetitive waffle

Gave up halfway through Chapter 3. Learnt nothing.
Repetitive. Repetitive. Repetitive.
Very disappointed.
Compared to Jockos stuff , who does have his fair share of repetition, well no comparison. I heard nothing new or inspiring ..wont bother with the rest.
waste of money

Mind and Muscle

Along with enjoying listening to Ant Middleton’s own story this audible book came at the right time for me for a positive thinking attitude to decide to be alcohol free. Cheers! 👍

Excellent and easy

It helped me a lot. I play nightly or when I can't sleep. The meaning and Ant's voice put everything into perspective. For me it is work in progress but going in the right direction.

So bad

Thought this would give some insight into how to build mental resilience. Instead it’s a boring repetitive monologue of Middleton trying to convince us (and himself?) that he’s such a great guy.

Food for thought and inspiration

Time to contemplate and get inspiration from an inspirational person.
A really good listen. My first audible experience is very positive.
