Publisher's Summary

A shapeshifter who possesses magic shouldn't exist, and some people want to keep it that way.

My life will never be simple again. As a werewolf who is a host to a powerful spirit shade, I possess the ability to manipulate magic, among other things-and that means I have many enemies. In need of allies, I join the Midwest Pack.

Being part of the pack is supposed to make things better. It doesn't. After performing a powerful spell to protect Ethan, I'm punished and cursed by the Creed, the ruling body of the witches, who will do anything to get rid of me.

While seeking a way to lift my curse, the pack find themselves tasked with guarding a book of magic that everyone wants, including the Creed. In the wrong hands, it can destroy the otherworld and ignite a battle that no one can win.

Pulled into the Midwest Pack's clandestine world of strange politics, dark secrets, and hidden dangers makes me wonder if joining the pack was a bad decision. I'm enticed when a powerful and mysterious witch claims he can make it all stop: break the curse, stop the rivalries, even undo my lycanthropy.

But the witch's help comes at a price-the betrayal of my pack. Which will I choose?

Awesome

This series gets better and better. Sky is a great character who makes realistic mistakes. I don't like Ethan, but, since it seems they are destined to be together I guess I'll get used to it. As always, Jorjeana Maria does a great job as narrator. I can't wait for the next book.

My favorite of the series so far!

This is one of my favorite books of the series. Skylar is becoming more comfortable with who and what she is. Her relationships with the pack members continue to develop, especially with Ethan, Josh and Stephen. There is more world building. We learn more about the witches and the fae. I enjoyed how the story developed and how Skylar bounces back after disappointments. Both realistic and escape fantasy. Highly recommend!

Sky is at it again!

Sky keeps finding herself in trouble! Auch good writing...McKenzie writes the bad guys to the point where you hate them. This book took me on an adventure and I could not stop reading until the end.

Love it

I love how the main character has grown since book one. How the relationships have developed. The story just flows. It is entertaining. Not one boring moment. Definitely want more. The narrator is perfect.

Great series

this was probably my least favorite book in the series. with saying that though it is still a great book. it was hard to see Ethan's relationship with Chris. sky does join the Midwest Pact which definitely brings its good with its bad. Again the author has brought characters that I love and characters that I love to hate.

performance is better then the story

I thought from the first book that am glad would grow and become less of a stupid whinning idiot and finally act her own age. I don't even know if I want to continue this series because she does not seem to want to grow.
