The orcs are thirsty.
And so are Captain Frank Gerber's swords, but apparently, you can't murder your customers.
Stuck with a nightclub after a job gone wrong, Frank has to figure out how to rebuild something he never even wanted. That's just the first of his problems.
Frank's blades will have a taste of blood again, but first, he has to party with orcs, barter with gnomes, drink with dwarves, and make shady deals with the scum of Sankta Varath, the greatest city in all of Steelheart Kingdom.
And that's just the first week.
Frank isn't a manager, he's got zero people skills, and even fewer connections in the business. With a drow for a bartender, a religious zealot for a waitress, an ogre with a sleeping problem for a bouncer, and an orc dancer, just what could go wrong?

Writing is okay. It suffers from a lot of the common self-published KU grammar issues (lie/lay, occasional word mix-ups, singular/plural mismatches, and the like). Dialogue is mostly great and the different characters are believable different, accounting for the usual fantasy race stereotypes.
Narration is well done, with good characterisation. The narrator is rather slow and gravelly, though, and by the end of the book I was listening at 1.7x and easily keeping up.
I look forward to the rest of the series.
