Publisher's Summary

Where Flinx and his flying minidrag Pip went, trouble always followed - that law had governed their lives through years of unsought danger and galactic intrigue. Now, an evil rich man was out to kidnap the minidrag for his personal zoo, and Flinx and Pip were on the run again - this time into uncharted space, on a random course they hoped would foil their pursuers.

They found more than they bargained for when they landed on Midworld, a verdant planet covered by an immense jungle, hosting an incredible variety of plant and animal life - all of it unknown and all of it deadly. And now they were in real trouble. Their hiding place was in danger of discovery, and their only hope lay with this bizarre and untamed planet...if it didn't kill them first!

Midworld: A new beginning!

After reading Midworld and Mid-Flinx I believe that this is a perfect time to develop a new relationship between human-kind and the amazing plants and animals of this remarkable world. I recommend that they build on the granite mountain tops! Have a series of satellites to beam energy through the thick canopy to the Home-Tree settlements. Thanks for a fantastic experience.

Loved every second of it.

A GREAT escape from the crisis of 2020. The narrator was wonderful, and perfectly paired for this story. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Alan Dean Foster at his BEST!

Flinx and Pip are two of my favorite literary creations; I've been reading and enjoying their adventures since I was just a boy. This book is one of my favorites in the Flinx & Pip Sagas! Having previously read 'Midworld' (Another wonderful Foster book!); I was rather prepared for this tale...or at least thought I was. The tale unfolds and magic happens! Foster is a MASTER STORYTELLER, and weaves his worlds and words seemingly without effort. I await each of his new books with great anticipation:l; he is simply one of my favorite writers. Having read this book 3 times before, I decided to listen this time... I enjoyed every minute of it.

Wonderful story!

We've read or listened to the Flinx books over and over. Flinx has at least 1 namesake in our "fur babies".

love the Flinx & Pip adventures.

I thought the narrator did a great job. Lot's of tense points. Flinx & Pip get into trouble but they always remain true to each other. Kiss taking the rescue into her own hands then pouting at the loss of her knife was my favorite part.

More action, less endless angst,please

I get bored with the amount of time spent by Flinx in repeatedly obsessing over himself.

Light hearted Sy-fy adventure

Another installment in the adventures of Pip and Flinx. You should listen to the series in sequence to get the full effect. The series allows you to follow the life of Flinx as he mature, while enjoying a stand-alone adventure in each and every book. The books are fun, nicely paced and filled with light hearted humor. Genuinely worth the listen if you are into sy-fy. And you really should give this particular book a try if you enjoyed the Movie Avatar.
