More of a romance than a historical mystery

The previous books in this series were much more to my taste. I didn’t expect this book to be so much of a sappy romance. There were too many (and to lengthy) scenes of romantic angst that added little to the plot and just seemed like page fillers to make the book longer. The romantic side of the plot could have been incorporated into the book without it taking over the book. If another book in this series comes out I’ll give it a try but if it ends up being a romance novel I’ll probably ditch the series going forward.

The woman ruins the story again

Good plot. Nice story Why not end by getting the bad guys. No need for the silly rescue girl ending. It's old and wasted two chapters

Well worth a read

This book did take a couple of tries for me to get into it, but it was worth the effort. A good story, with good characters worthy of being liked or hated as appropriate! It was quite interesting to discover how things were dealt with in times gone by. I felt that it was a true historical setting, though I am no expert, it just felt right. I will be interested to try more from this author.

A very enjoyable read easy to listen to.

I enjoyed this book I found it easy to listen to, interesting and without the violence that you find in some books, also no bad language which is a boon as some writers think it is a necessity.
