Publisher's Summary

In the beginning, God created Adam. Then he made Eve. And ever since we've been picking up the pieces. Loveology is just that - a theology of love. With an autobiographical thread that turns an audiobook into a story, pastor and speaker John Mark Comer shares about what is right in male/female relationships - what God intended in the Garden. And about what is wrong - the fallout in a post-Eden world.

Loveology starts with marriage and works backward. Comer deals with sexuality, romance, singleness, and what it means to be male and female; ending with a raw, uncut, anything goes Q and A dealing with the most asked questions about sexuality and relationships. This is an audiobook for singles, engaged couples, and the newly married - both inside and outside the church - who want to learn what the Scriptures have to say about sexuality and relationships. For those who are tired of Hollywood's propaganda, and the church's silence. And for people who want to ask the why questions and get intelligent, nuanced, grace-and-truth answers, rooted in the Scriptures.

Orthodox Rob Bell

I would have loved this ten years ago, but it's not what I was expecting when I picked it out. Loveology is a book on dating, sex and romantic relationships written in the style of Rob Bell, from a conservative Christian perspective. It's well written for that style, though I spent the majority of my time wondering what John Mark's unique voice would sound like. Ultimately, the subject matter wasn't what I was looking for. I was expecting it to tackle broader human issues of sexuality, similar to Rob Bell's Sex God. This is solely focused on romantic relationships though, and does not talk about how love and sexuality permeates every relationship we have as Christians. It was good, and I think most Evangelicals will love it, it's just not what I was expecting.

A brilliant book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

To any Christian, no matter what point of a relationship they are in, I would recommend listening or reading this book. It is straightforward and unapologetic when it comes to discussing God's version of what a marriage should look and feel like.

Beautiful

One of the best books on relationships that I’ve read. John answered some of the most difficult questions about marriage for me.

Great content, asks/answers the hard questions

I'm a big fan of this book as a whole. John portrays a lot of the hard questions and topics that we ask around relationships, dating, and marriage, while keeping it biblical but also relatable to today's culture.

Great insightful book!

Loved this book. I’ve had many questions and thoughts all over the spectrum of relationships and John Marks book Loveology covers every corner. The writing of John Mark is notably easy to read and digest, almost conversational, which makes it very easy to absorb and apply all the wisdom within the book. Highly recommend to any human who wants to have a long lasting fulfilling relationship and even to those who are single and aren’t perusing dating .

Answered so many of my questions I've had for years. I now have a full understanding of how to go about letting God lead me in love and relationships. This book will be a staple in my life right after my Bible.

Beautifully Written

Pastor John Mark Comer’s book Loveology is amazing. In this book, I was able to understand concepts of God, and see Him and perhaps also where He may be standing on the issues addressed in this book. Loveology reminds me, to love like Jesus, and in the moments when imperfections, failures, and insecurities come knocking at the door, that we speak and practice a cross shaped kind of love, that looks and reaches far beyond ourselves. So thankful for that!

Loveology is essential!

So well thought out, Made to easily understand, and so obviously derived though gobs of prayer, study, and alignment with scripture and the Holy Spirit. I’m very grateful for John Mark’s passion and obedience to his calling in writing this book. It’s helpful for long married couples, singles, teens, and those who are dating. Definitely a great soundtrack, too. John Mark’s personal narration is great as his conviction on the topic as well as his gift for speaking shines through.
