Great listen

I’ve always enjoyed military stories and after reading the reviews of this book thought I’d give it a shot. I was not disappointed. It’s not a difficult read but the characters are well developed and you get to know them as the plot unfolds. I recommend this book to everyone as it has a bit of everything but especially to those who like war stories.

Superb book

One of the best military stories I have ever listened to. The authors deep understanding of military strategy, tactics, weapons and units makes the characters and story completely believable. There is no Rambo-esque glamorisation of war. A light is shone on the horror and human tragedy of military confrontation, whilst recognising the courage of the men and women who serve in all the armed services. Highly recommended.

A gripping fictional war story

Despite a slow start, while setting up the character back stories, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. So much so that I have purchased the other 3 books by the same author.

As true to life as ever you will get .

Every soldier takes on a life of their own, the true to life banter and rivalry of the varies arms is laid bare. The comradship and pride in what they do, is brought to life in all its wrore truth. its like being back in uniform.

What could have happened

A now dated story of what could of happened in Belize in the 1990s but was seen off by deterrence measures. A tale of heroics but plausible. Not to be taken too seriously but entertaining.

Fun stuff

A good fun well researched military fiction book. My one problem with it is the reader miss pronounces a number of military words. Most distracting was GPMG: when reading gimpy he says gimp,e not Jimpy. But dont get me wrong I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Superb

Once again Mike Lunnon Wood has written such an engrossing book that it is impossible to turn away from it! The interest in the individual characters and story line become totally absorbing. Well performed by John Telfer with such a superb range of accents, pathos and clarity. Thoroughly enjoyed every aspect and would recommend to all!
