Publisher's Summary

When a group of missionaries get caught up in bloody African civil war, London is forced to act. For the men of 40 Commando, Royal Marines, it should be a quick in and out. A nice clean operation. Another brilliant book

The attention to detail and the way that the author has written this book had me looking online to find out more about it. I knew it was fiction but it was just a really complete story, how could it not be true! Masterful

A story of heroism and faith

Having just finished Long Reach I didn't think another story could match that....his wrong was I? Superb storytelling, superbly narrated, what a shame there are no more Mike Lunnon-Wood stories, I could read this mans books till the end of time.

Action From Cover To Cover.

All action as we've come to expect from this author. Sadly this is the last of the British Military Quartet. Try his other 2 titles; Dark Rose & Somewhere Out There. Mike died before being able to add more titles to his 6 great reads.

Thrilling Story

An interesting and thrilling story read well. The excitement and action stayed with the reader until almost the end, when a more sensitive approach to a personal storyline took place. I thoroughly enjoyed Congo Blue, and will certainly buy more books written by the author.

Outstanding!

Anyone with military experience will relish the technical excellence and the beautifully woven narrative around likeable characters. Great listen, and only sorry when it ended as so engrossing and poignant
Investigating M L-W other books, and can only suggest that it is a shame that he died before he could write more

Good but not as good as other books in quartet.

although this isn't the first book in the quartet it reads more like it. it's enjoyable and full of action but I didn't feel the same sense of emotion connection that I got from the other 3 books in the series.

Fast Paced and Brilliant

The author Knows his subject. His knowledge of weaponry and tactics is impressive. Once started, I could not put this book down. I'll certainly read his other novels.

Gripping, believeable tale of daring do

Compulsive story telling that made me angry, laugh and cry. As ever Royal is left to sort it with with what they can carry. Why - because they were there; them only them.
