Publisher's Summary

As parents, we want to safeguard our children from the pressures and influences of the world but also prepare them for age-appropriate realities. How do we find that balance? Jessica Smartt shares ways to be more aware, engaged, proactive, creative, and protective, but also adventurous with our kids.

Let Them Be Kids is Jessica’s offering of grace and confidence to moms, giving us practical ideas to meet the challenge. Her well-researched, tested methods, woven together with her personal stories and witty humor, deliver wisdom on tough topics, such as:

  • Balancing family time vs. outside activities,
  • The gift of being awkward and uncool,
  • Managing technology,
  • Protecting purity,
  • Showing grace when kids disobey,
  • And more.

Part story, part guidebook, every chapter includes doable strategies and encouragement for the journey, equipping moms with ways to provide a safe, healthy, Christ-centered upbringing for our children.

If you want to conquer fear and find the truth that transforms entire families, Let Them Be Kids shows us that it’s not only possible but essential to enjoy every special moment of building family values together. And it serves as a gentle reminder that, someday, we’ll be very glad that we did.

Love this book!! Not so much the narration

This book is so helpful and I felt to have so much in common with author. I have not had the same sweet life she has had but still we had so many thoughts in common. Even if you were not raised in the idyllic life she had and is giving to her family you can still relate. I now have 5 kiddos and really gained and ton of great advise on how to really raise great kids. I am trying to break my family cycle and really giving my kids a great life and have confidence it seems only those in crowd kids have. I felt like this is one of the first relatable books I have found from someone who didn't have a rough life. The advice on talking to kids about tough issues is real and not sugar coated or fake. I love this author talks about real issues and her fears and anxiety. Very very good book. I started out with memory maker mom and completed enjoyed it and might have to listen to it again there was valuable information. i love the narration on the first book, this one was a little difficult to get use to. Again not matter what your background is you will have relatable topics. Thank you for writing this great book!
