About this listen

Les Misérables is set in Paris after the French Revolution. In the sewers and backstreets, we encounter "the wolf-like tread of crime", and assassination for a few sous is all in a day's work. We weep with the unlucky and heart-broken Fantine, and we exult with the heroic revolutionaries of the barricades; but above all we thrill to the steadfast courage and nobility of soul of ex-convict Jean Valjean, always in danger from the relentless pursuit of the diabolical Inspector Javert.

Very well narrated, one of the most amazing stories ever written. Les miserables is a terrific insight into French history. Two thirds of the book doesn't advance the plot, but it is a description of French life with amazing attention to detail.

It would be good if whisoersync for kindle was made available.

The story is good, and that goes without saying, but the audio is a bit shoddy. The reader was incredibly slow, and the sound quality was so poor that I needed to have speakers connected to my phone just to hear it

Not bad for a free recording
