    Need both audio and book

I thought I wouldn't need the interactive part but you do. It just reads the spanish to go with the book. Cant just listen in your car. Defeats the purpose in my opinion.

    Practically unusable

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Having some actual usable learning would be nice.

What do you think your next listen will be?

    Not this book.

Would you be willing to try another one of SpanishPod101.com’s performances?

    Probably not.

What character would you cut from Learn Mexican Spanish - Word Power 101?

There are no characters in this language learning book.

    Any additional comments?

The Spanish pronunciation narrator spoke so fast and so softly that non-native Spanish speakers can't remotely follow.

    A review for intermediate Spanish

First let me say that I giggled at the review that states it was, "very hard to understand the Spanish. Even words I know I have a hard time understanding from her". I live in a Spanish speaking community and the narrator does not mispronounce anything. Her speech is fine, but perhaps the REVIEWER had been either mispronouncing those Spanish words or learning from a person who was not a native speaker or has a hearing challenge (not uncommon with audiobooks). I am almost fluent now and feel that this audiobook is more of a review than "starting to learn" as the title suggests. Yes, there are some basic words but there are also phrases that spoken fairly quickly. A beginner is not going to know the words being said without seeing them. So this is a good book if you want more review time and practice but you already know some Spanish. I'm a bit too advanced for it now, but this would have really come in handy a year or two ago.

Would be confusing for a beginner

This is a nice review for intermediate speakers. However, it will be confusing if you are just starting out. It doesn't explain the difference between similar words, such as ser and estar, it just uses them in sentences.

    Backwards - no bueno

Right from the start this book requires you to know Spanish in order to learn Spanish. There is no learning individual words and linking them together to grow sentences, paragraphs and conversations. There is no repetition to fine tune pronunciation. Instead the learner is immediately bombarded with a word. It is body slammed into a fast spoken complete sentence and you are smacked with a hopeless sense of failure.

    Not good for beginners

This book is more like a refresher for a beginner Spanish class, not for brand jew beginners with no knowledge of the Spanish language.

    Good for falling a sleep

I listen to this book when on the plane, mowing, or falling a sleep. it's great background noise (ignore if wanted) and I feel I'm ingraining what I've learned in other lessons simultaneously.

Awesome book! Great for the basics, it will prepare you for the next level, very well

This foot is an excellent book for beginners, and, those who may have some classes in high school, that need a refresher. Even if you’ve had some training before, and maybe forgot some of the basics, this book will help build your skills quickly into the necessary conversation skills for today and tomorrow. This book is specially for the Mexican dialect. I hope you too enjoy this product......
