Story
The workplace has undergone a massive shift. Remote work and economic instability have depressed innovation and left us disconnected and disengaged. Paychecks no longer buy loyalty, happiness, and effort. Quiet quitting runs rampant, and people show up without truly showing up. Alarmed managers are doubling down on keystroke surveillance, productivity tracking and back-to-the-office mandates, when what they should be doing is the opposite. In The Song of Significance, legendary author and business thinker Seth Godin posits a new view of what industry leaders must do now.

Story
In his bravest and most challenging book yet, Seth Godin shows how we can thrive in an economy that rewards art, not compliance. He explains why true innovators focus on trust, remarkability, leadership, and stories that spread. And he makes a passionate argument for why you should be treating your work as art. Art is not a gene or a specific talent. It's an attitude, available to anyone who has a vision that others don't, and the guts to do something about it.

Story
Every new project (or job, or hobby, or company) starts out exciting and fun. Then it gets harder and less fun, until it hits a low point: really hard, and not much fun at all. And then you find yourself asking if the goal is even worth the hassle. Maybe you're in a Dip: a temporary setback that you will overcome if you keep pushing. But maybe it's really a Cul-de-Sac, which will never get better, no matter how hard you try.

Every marketer tells a story. And if they do it right, we believe them. We believe that wine tastes better in a $20 glass than a $1 glass. We believe that an $80,000 Porsche Cayenne is vastly superior to a $36,000 VW Touareg, which is virtually the same car. We believe that $225 Pumas will make our feet feel better, and look cooler, than $20 no-names... and believing it makes it true.

Publisher's Summary
Are You Ready to Raise a Ruckus?
You're probably good at your job, maybe even great. But secretly, do you yearn to fly higher? To challenge the rules and surprise us with something remarkable? To instigate delight, connection, and real change? To choose better over safer?
Business and cultural visionary Seth Godin has transformed the terrain of marketing and commerce more than once. But many of his readers remain stuck in their own work lives. So what's keeping us back? "The problem isn't a lack of knowledge or skill," he's realized. "The problem is fear." With Leap First, Seth Godin is here to help. This immersive audio program invites us to learn with him personally, unrehearsed and in the moment, as he shines a light for us, not with answers but with questions on the road to:
- Overcoming our instinctual resistance to risk and change
- Discovering our creative genius in the face of the empty page or whiteboard
- Finding the courage to share that work - with vulnerability, generosity, and results
Recorded in an intimate gathering of aspiring entrepreneurs, writers, and leaders, Leap First teaches us 49 essential principles, practices, and life lessons that have helped Seth the most in his own work and life. More than an audiobook or keynote speech, each track here presents a carefully chosen catalyst intended to trigger our own passion and insight with each listening.
"It always feels too soon to leap. But you have to. Because that's the moment between you and remarkable. I hope this helps you return to that edge. And then, to leap."

Great content but audio needs to improve
Any additional comments?
Seth is great but his content deserves better production work. I have 3 audio books from Seth with subpar audio quality. I know Seth himself don't really care about audio quality as he mentioned in his speech but it does make a difference. With proper loudness normalization and equalization, they can sound a lot clearer especially when you listen while walking on the street or driving.

Love love love this book, and hearing it from the author makes it that much better. However, the music in between each section is a nuisance. I like to listen to audio books at work and the music is so loud compared to Seth’s voice that I’m constantly having to turn the volume up and down.

Compelled to make a habit of creating without fear
Seth points out our habit of fear in response to the natural call to create. He reminds us of cultural processes put in place that supports factory readiness, which is a call to conformity and recitation. We miss so much joy in life by fearing to respond to a craft in a personal way. And we cheat the world.6

Short listen reinforcing the best of Set Godin
Where does Leap First rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It was short and concise, it's a quick listen and if you've read other Seth Godin books you'll appreciate the content, I certainly did. A decent book for its length.
If you’ve listened to books by Seth Godin before, how does this one compare?
I wouldn't consider it a full book but defiantly a good recap of the ideas Seth Godin goes into in his other books.

Best Thing I’ve Listened To All Year
Seth is brilliant. But even by his high standards, this is off the charts. Excellent on every aspect. Usual visionary insight and motivational ideas. If you’re struggling to ship what you’re creating, do yourself a favour and listen to this. It’ll shift everything. 💪

GREAT listening! Just over two hours of insightful, encouraging and truthful thoughts that has changed my mind set about creating and being creative. Thank you, Seth Godin!

Read in 2020 still great
I love what Seth says, and would love to ship like he says but it's scarey, like he also says!! the one thing I picked up from reading this a second time is, maybe if you're too scared then ship anonymously

Love it
A potent book very meaningful words. I highly recomend it.Is a kind of a short one but at the same time very practical if you dont have time to invest more in listening.
