Summary

 Sokrates ist zum Tode verurteilt. Er sitzt im Gefängnis, wo er auf seine baldige Hinrichtung wartet. Sein Schüler Kriton besucht ihn, um ihm den Termin der Hinrichtung zu nennen und ihn von der notwendigen Flucht zu überzeugen. Sokrates möchte jedoch nicht fliehen. Er erläutert seine Entscheidung ausführlich, u.a. damit, dass man Unrecht nicht mit Unrecht vergelten soll und Verpflichtungen, auch ein Gerichtsurteil, einzuhalten sind. Kriton hat Sokrates' Argumenten nichts entgegenzusetzen.
