Story
Despite his recent victories, Nate Temple’s problems are only just beginning. Although it had been necessary, killing the most infamous of the Norse gods has consequences, and no one knows petty vengeance like the Aesir. Especially with Odin’s legendary spear mysteriously missing. But Nate has more important things to worry about than a pantheon of angry gods. Because the God of Mischief has been freed from his imprisonment, and so has his monstrosity of a son - a creature prophesied to play a major role in Ragnarok.

Story
Abductions rarely go as planned...but this is just ridiculous. Torn from the Faeling games on the beaches of Scotland, Quinn MacKenna suddenly finds herself doggie-paddling in a turbulent sea of blood with no land in sight. And that’s the highlight of her day so far, because her abductors seem perfectly content to simply leave her in this strange Otherworld. Quinn must fight tooth and nail to unearth answers about herself and her place in the worlds of both Man and Fae...even if that means losing herself, first.

What’s a goddess to do? After being lost at sea and taken prisoner by yet another denizen of the Titan realm, Quinn finds herself cold, wet, miserable, and very much alone. Until a familiar and unexpected face steps back into her life to remind her who she is - and has always - been: A fighter. Two old dudes want to kill me. Oh, and one of them is my ancestor.... And after centuries of practice, they’re pretty good at the whole murder thing. But at least they want to kill each other just as badly. Now, I’ve taken down a Greek goddess, worn a Horseman’s mask, and I ride a homicidal unicorn who hates rainbows with a passion. Some might say sending two senior citizens to a permanent retirement home should be a breeze. It ain’t. Because that’s not my biggest concern. One of my friends is in danger, or possibly dying, and I need to get her back before her fiancé kills me.

My name is Quinn MacKenna, and magic doesn’t work on me. When I’m not getting roped into bar brawls in Boston, I’m usually acquiring - stealing is a form of acquisition, you know - dangerous magical artifacts to turn around and sell them to the highest bidders. But I prefer to be paid in favors, not money. Because favors are a hot commodity in the Land of the Fae. Favors are the only currency that will buy the answers I seek: Why magic doesn’t work on me, and who my real father is.

Story
Who is Callie Penrose? They say she’s been kissed by heaven - whatever the hell that means. Because Callie was orphaned on the steps of a church in Kansas City and doesn’t know her parents. She starts out as a rookie wizard who hunts monsters for the Vatican. Except...ironically, she’s never been a churchy kind of girl, and she quickly learns that monsters can reside anywhere. Even among the most devout.
Publisher's Summary
Nate Temple must die.
Mordred - the bastard son of King Arthur - has returned, and he will stop at nothing to utterly destroy everything his father ever created, burning the Arthurian legend from the history books for good.
He’s already defeated Nate Temple once, corrupting the fabled Knights of the Round Table into darker, nigh-invincible, merciless killing machines: Knightmares.
And once Camelot is nothing more than a pile of fiery rubble, Mordred plans to conquer St. Louis, after slaughtering Nate and everyone he’s ever cared about, of course.
But a vengeful god is also hunting Nate and starts attacking his friends to draw him out. When one of Nate’s best friends is gravely wounded, Nate is forced to make an impossible choice - save his city from Mordred or save his friend from a blood-crazed god.
Both foes carry enough daddy issues to grant a first-year psychologist a second-year retirement. But Nate’s not that stable, either, and if he can’t get a grip on his own demons, his victory might very well be worse than anything either of his enemies ever could have imagined.
The only option left is to shatter all the rules, opening himself up to deadly powers better left untouched and forgotten, and even that is a fool’s gambit, a whisper of a hope.
Then again, if we don’t have hope, we’ve already lost. So, it’s time for Nate Temple to roll the dice. Because, in this game, even hope can die...
If you like Jim Butcher, Sarah J. Maas, Kevin Hearne, Steve McHugh, Michael Anderle, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Shannon Mayer, or K.F. Breene, you won't be able to stop listening to this highly addictive Nate Temple series.

Oh my god, this was so good
I already love the series anyways, but I have truly not been disappointed. I feel like every book turns out to be my new favorite. Which is good and bad. They are sure jealous of each other and will one day come back to haunt me about which one was the absolute best. As always immediately after reading it, I would have to say this one of course. Let’s see how the next one fares...

Shayne keeps cranking them out
As all of the nate temple books, this being no exception, there is a ton of action and humor and odd twists to the storyline. overall I have nothing to complain about and am eager for the next one. That being said, I know shayne is an indie author and can understand the decisions he makes, I just cant help thinking how much more thos series could be if he wasn't writing three others at the same time, it is truly impressive that he continues to churn out quality material for all of his series and keeps a release schedule that would have Stephan king having a double take...

Nate temple is probably the biggest asshole in literature
I love Shayne Silvers writing, but Nate temple is arguably the biggest asshole in literature bar none . He handles everything like a trust fund baby you went to school with basically validating peoples reasons for keeping him in the dark because he is only good at overreacting and trying to make those who are helping him do so on his terms. The story is compelling if not overwhelming because of the buildup to less than pulse pounding climaxes and then the reaction to said climax is a temper tantrum that you wish you could say: Jesus man are you on the rag??!!

This book felt slow to get going, then was over to quick and while plenty happen nothing really happened in the overall arching story. I look forward to the next issue in the series but hope it has a greater impact on the main plot. Enjoyed reading the Kellies interaction from Nates point of view and the two linked series

As always, a five star rating for Shayne. Brilliant. ... Just one gripe is that you don't seem to be releasing enough. I think one book per week seems fair... get back to it then, these books wont write themselves. 😁
