While the story isn't without faults, I like it and will continue the series.
I will not be listening to it, however, as the narration is not done well. At times, it actually caused a headache.
So my recommendation is to read the books as I find the setting and the system interesting and different. Worth the effort.
That narration though...I'm trying hard not to be unkind here....

I'm thoroughly enjoying the story so far, however the narrator often yells when characters are written as speaking calmly or softly and it makes for a jarring experience. Likewise system messages are often very loud and I have to readjust the volume frequently. I will continue listening for now, hopefully narrator improves over the series as I am hooked.
