A good, short intro.

The good news is that it covers key phrases. The bad news is that you will probably need to study at least another 499 to 749 or more hours to be able to understand spoken Japanese.

I listen to these in a bunch of different languages to see if I'm passionate enough at the end of them to conitinue on my language learning journey with saud language...

Better options available

Any additional comments?

This was not a well put together learning program. It consists of a narrator saying a never ending list of new words. There is no opportunity for the listener to repeat the words or any conversational learning. There are far better options available that "teach" vs just shoot words at the listener. I highly recommend going with a different book/program to learn Japanese.

Just a list of phrases for you to repeat

The vocabulary here is useful but no craft is put in to make it easier to learn. No built in repetition or memory tricks, and no spacing of material to make it easier to take in. Strange choice of things to learn in some cases- my priority would not be learning both a pint and a half pint, draft and bottled lager - just learn to say beer and take what comes! Little effort taken to speak clearly and sound out words. No good for beginners, you need to already have your ear tuned.
