Jagged Lies ended up being a far more enjoyable listen than I expected.
This is a heavy, angst-soaked omegaverse packed with rejection, grief, trauma, and emotional damage. Kennedy absolutely goes through it, and my heart broke for her more than once. If you like a wounded FMC clawing her way through pain while everyone around her makes questionable life choices, this delivers.
The angst was strong, and the grovel was better than expected. Brett is still a complete fuckwit, and Theo tested my patience repeatedly, but I did enjoy the MMC group overall.
Pacing dragged in places, and some emotional beats felt repetitive, circling the same wounds a little too long. I also wanted stronger chemistry payoff once the tide finally turned.
Rachel Leblang and Lance Greenfield both did a good job with the narration and were enjoyable to listen to throughout. They handled the emotional weight well and kept the story engaging.
