Story
Imposter Syndrome doesn’t just affect middle-aged suits in big board rooms. The typical thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are part of the imposter experience - things like overwork, perfectionism and procrastination, hiding out, playing small and holding back – are common for so many of us. This is not just a different name for self-doubt. It is pervasive and goes directly to your sense of self-worth and belonging. You don’t need a confidence hack. You need to go to the root cause of your feelings of unworthiness and learn to trust that you are enough.

It will help young men understand that there is a point where pressuring behaviour becomes criminal.

We live in a world that's obsessed with talent. We celebrate gifted students in school, natural athletes in sports, and child prodigies in music. But admiring people who start out with innate advantages leads us to overlook the distance we ourselves can travel. We underestimate the range of skills that we can learn and how good we can become. We can all improve at improving. And when opportunity doesn't knock, there are ways to build a door.

I Don't presents an inarguable case against marriage for modern women. With the incisive attention to detail and razor sharp wit that has characterised her work, Ford examines a broad range of topics, including the patriarchal history of marriage; the insidious and centuries long marketing campaign pop culture has conducted in marriage's favour; the illusion of feminist 'choice' in regard to taking men's names; the physical and social cost that comes with motherhood; and what a different kind of world could look like for women who were allowed to truly be free.

Some 45 percent of Europeans suffer high blood pressure, and nearly 70 percent of Americans take at least one prescription drug. Illness and trauma are defining how we live. In his new masterpiece, renowned physician, addiction expert and author Gabor Maté dissects the underlying causes of this malaise—physical and emotional, and connects the dots between our personal suffering and the pressures of modern-day living.

Publisher's Summary
How to gain authenticity, freedom and responsibility by recovering your sense of identity.
The fundamental belief I hold is that each individual is responsible for the way in which they engage with their own existence.
How is it possible for us not to know who we are? If we are not ourselves, who are we? The truth is, we can become many things - a modified version of our true selves, a manifestation of our wounds, a projection of who others want us to be, or, in extreme circumstances, a stranger. In order to explain how this occurs, existential psychotherapist Sara Kuburic will introduce the listener to the concept of self-loss and explore how it manifests physically, emotionally, relationally and spiritually.
Told through the lens of the author's own journey, the audiobook is divided into three parts: The Self I Lost, The Self I Found and, finally, The Self I Live.
The listener will get a closer look at the behind the scenes of Kuburic's life and the numerous failed relationships, poor decisions, and over-achieving tendencies that are all rooted in her own self-loss. As she reflects on her own experiences, she will invite the listener to do the same.

Moving, affirming, and impactful
Such a wonderful book. I felt "seen" listening to this book and hearing Sara's story. Sara offers much needed hard truths about depression and the loss of your identity. Sara does this with compassion, intelligence, and knowledge and then guides the reader through practical ways to help find your sense of self. As someone who has struggled with existential depression, this was truly a helpful book. Listening to the introduction has literally changed my life. Cannot recommend this book enough
