Publisher's Summary

Brought to you by Its Majesty’s Government. Greatest Britain: For a Global Universe.

Agent Isaac Steele has problems. He spends all his splibs on drink and drugs. He has some deep-seated and very much unresolved issues with his parents. And his robotic partner at Greatest Britain’s Department of Clarification, Dr Timothy Stephens, is ruled more by his heart than his hard drive.

But all these issues take a back seat when Isaac stumbles upon a case involving the most sensitive information in the cosmos - a Never File, inaccessible to all except those with the highest clearance. He is expressly forbidden to involve himself. So naturally he does.

So begins an investigation that will take him across the Discovered Universe, into the path of the mysterious Forever Man, and eventually to answers about his past. Along the way, he will have to contend with aliens, robots, monsters, bureaucrats and, perhaps most deadly of all, his own numerous flaws.

Written and narrated by BAFTA award winner Daniel Rigby (Eric and Ernie, Flowers, Black Mirror), not since The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy have listeners been offered such a joyful, anarchic and insightful universe.

That was excellent. Full marks.

That was very good. Well written, funny without trying too hard. An author who actually has a sense of humour instead of trying to pretend they have a sense of humour.

Why are there not more of this series??

surprisingly perfect

I loved everything about this book: the plot, the narrative, the narration. It has all that you want in a book: humor, aliens, robots, forbidden romance, allusion to other good books and an appealing main character. I will be reading everything in this series

a descent into epic hilarity

Probably the funniest book I've ever read / listened to. I loved the performance, the characters, the banter, and everything else. My only criticism is that it finished.

Hilarious and highly entertaining!

This fantastic book made me laugh so hard sometimes I was stared at in nasty ways! The story was gripping and engaging! Thanks for writing such a great book. Well read too, the sarcasm was excellently delivered and I loved it!

Original, funny and quirky.

Sci-fi space fantasy stories are so much better when the relatable main character is featured in his quirky universe.

It's "Caves of Steel" meets "Remington Steele."....... probably why the main character is "Isaac Steele."

Intellectual comedy and blunt humour is normally lost by authors from the USA, so this story would get low ratings from the yanks.

It's not a superficial shoot 'em up story with superfluous action descriptions....... it's a STORY....... with characters who get a new layer as the book progresses and a back story that flows within the contemporary narrative without losing your attention.

Some quirky scenes and situations, but that's where the FICTION of science fiction belongs.
This book doesn't pretend to come up with any "real life" alternative theories on future life. It dabbles in some fictional themes that are common, but it doesn't have any in your face belief system.

This book is character driven and just a good fun read.

The narrator has a great character range, and can really read REAL English, not the bastardised version that insults your intelligence.

A good book. And I might even get the next in the series.

P.S. to the author, who also narrated it...... if there's a second book, don't try and improve your characters or writing style....... as you have written this book with a raw style and simple ideas, then including that quirky surrounding, situation or scenario is just an addition....

You've done really well on this one.

Can’t wait for the next one

A very funny space adventure. I’m not really a sci fi fan but this was a real page turner ( or whatever the audio book equivalent is).
