About this listen

The third novel in the international No. 1 bestselling Mercy Thompson series - the major urban fantasy hit of the decade

'I love these books!' Charlaine Harris

'The best new fantasy series I've read in years' Kelley Armstrong

MERCY THOMPSON: MECHANIC, SHAPESHIFTER, FIGHTER

It wasn't hard to follow the scent of blood to the living room where the fae had been killed. It had been a violent death, perfect for creating ghosts.

Mercy Thompson enjoys life as a mechanic, but life is never simple given her increasing closeness to the local werewolf pack, and her ability to change into coyote form at will. And when a member of the fae community calls in a favour, needing her skills for a covert murder investigation, she jumps into the hunt.

But the dangers multiply and she clashes with shadowed creatures of great power. When her old boss Zee is charged with a brutal assassination, Mercy find herself fighting alone. There are those who love her, who would keep her safe, but she is wary and holds her freedom precious. Until, that is, she has nothing left to lose but her life . . .

Praise for the series:

'Plenty of twists and turns . . . Kept me entertained from its deceptively innocent beginning to its can't-put-it-down end' Kim Harrison, bestselling author of Dead Witch Walking

'I enjoyed every minute of it. I love Mercy and can't wait for her to kick some more ass' Lilith Saintcrow

Critic Reviews

"Brigg's third novel featuring [Mercy] Thompson (after Blood Bound) is another top-notch paranormal mystery; her well-balanced contemporary world, where humans live uneasily among werewolves and fae, is still a believably lived-in world; the ever-present." (Publishers Weekly)

Great book, love the Mercedes Thompson series. The audio glitches in 2-3 places where you miss a bit of the book, it skips a section of audio. Tried replaying but it's something wrong with the recording

Any additional comments?

Where are the rest of the books on Audible? How can they jump from book 3 to book 8
not fair.

Love Mercedes Thomson

I love how Ms Briggs work uses breadcrumbs that seem small parts of the story before but suddenly turn into large plot lines. As the series goes on that seems much more so even.
It’s a pity that the recording I bought skips in a couple of places. It doesn’t do the work or the performer who, I might add gives a great performance in all the books I’ve listened to of this series to date. (All books released to date). I deleted and redownloaded just to make sure it wasn’t my device. It did it again. Props to the author and the voice artist.

Great book , pity that the recording skips

Love this series, I have read the books many times and thought I would give the audio a shot. There are a few jumps where you miss a paragraph or two, which is annoying and or I can keep regardless of already reading the book or not. So even though overall it was decent, bare this in mind.

must read - but audio glitches

The biggest issue is the audio jumps and you lose a paragraph or two, it was reported however I've seen that this issue was raised 2 years ago so not likely to get fixed (a shame since some of what is lost is funny) BUT this book definitely builds up Mercy into the character you will come to love and admire throughout the series. Like most books in this series you will devourer each chapter, and if you're like me see a good sunrise when you read/listen the whole way through. *NOTE do NOT start this in the afternoon if you have work in the morning

Broken Audio but a great listen none-the-less
