Story
Digby Graves, a deceased medieval peasant with delusions of grandeur, is trying to figure out how the hell he ended up in Seattle 800 years after his death. Also, why does he have necrotic magic coursing through his zombified body? Added to that is the fact that he made a terrible first impression the moment he woke up by lunging at the first person that came into biting range. Now, the curse he's unleashed is loose in the world.

Story
Joe takes his first step into exile, and is promptly unable to breathe. This new Zone has a higher concentration of power, magnitudes denser. His first task is to survive, but mere survival is the least of his concerns. The Zone he has landed on has been in a state of constant war for thousands of years, a tug of war between the Elven and Dwarven societies. Not choosing a side is the same as declaring both to be your personal enemy. Though he is resistant, Joe reluctantly decides to go with the group he thinks will help him grow the most.

Incredible end to a great story
- By Anonymous User on 24-01-2021
Publisher's Summary
Storm Company is scattered. Magic is out of reach. The beasts are charging.
Zeke and his friends have been with each other constantly since coming to Brindolla. They found the power to support themselves via potent magic that would make their wildest dreams back on Earth seem tame.
All of that comes crashing down when one of War's generals manages to wound Orlow’thes, the guardian of the waters, near the Continent of Beasts. Their fight scattered Storm Company to the winds, and this place only gets weirder and wilder as time passes.
Zeke is now sick and unable to touch his magic. Only Bea has remained at his side, and together they need to hunt for a cure. The only other option is to wait it out and hope his friends survive. Yet, waiting has never been his style. It’s time to brave the strongest beasts and the most cunning of beings.
Time for the fight against War to go Into the Wild.

Story

It's like the story equivalent of candy.
If I want a literary classic, I'll read Dickens or Twain. If I want characters with more depth than an oceanic fault line, I'll read Brandon Sanderson.
If I want a fun narrative with likeable characters that get along with each other, this is the series I listen to. It's like a literary chocolate cake. Sure, a literature professor might complain about it using words like "theme" or "foreshadowing" and there are a few areas where the author could use a bit more polish, but it's not really a problem for me because I can tolerate some rough edges if the story is fun and engaging (that is to say, "tasty").
I know some people won't like it because there's not much interpersonal conflict. I think that's actually one of the reasons why I like it so much. It's a story about a group of friends being transported to a fantasy world with game mechanics; if someone reads the summary and isn't turned off by the premise, they're probably not looking for the most mundane story. The cooperation of the characters is its own bit of escapism, especially for those of us who don't always get along with our coworkers. I loved being able to listen to this story without having to worry about who in the party might be plotting some betrayal or other intrigue.
My only noteworthy complaint with this last installment is that the ending left me a little unsatisfied. I won't get into details (obviously), but it wasn't the outcome I had expected. While that in itself is not a problem, it didn't resolve things as neatly as I had hoped. Still, it's not a big deal, and I loved the series regardless.
Overall, this whole series was something of a guilty pleasure for me. I enjoyed it thoroughly, and I think if you want to enjoy it, you'll be far less bothered by minor issues and you'll be able to appreciate the wild ride.

Not gonna cry, not gonna cry, not ... going ... too. Dang it I’m tearing up. This series has been amazing and I can’t wait more installments. Series is done, but hopefully not the story!
Strong finish for the axe druid! I like where the end landed us. There is potential for more story and I sincerely hope it happens. One criticism I have though, is that there was a lot of enchanting in this book. There is story among the enchanting, but for me it dragged on a bit long. Sorry to see the series end.
Obviously as the final book of six, this is completely unsuitable for somebody new to the series, but on the plus side, if you are new to the series you have five books to go through before this one.
By the time you reach the final book in any series, most of the world-building and character development are done and it is mainly judged on how well the author can stick the landing. In the case of this book, the author has done a very good job, albeit the pacing felt a little off due the majority of the book dealing with the fallout of the previous one along with what was effectively a side-quest, with the conclusion taking up far less time than that.
The narrator's performance continues to be a strong one, as it has been throughout the series, helping to bring the varied cast to life all the more.
Overall, a good end to a very enjoyable series, but it will be interesting to see what plans the author has for that world in the future as there's clearly plenty of options for him and these characters.
