Publisher's Summary

The Montgomery Ink saga from New York Times best-selling author Carrie Ann Ryan continues with a steamy new series.

Years ago, Annabelle Montgomery married not for love but for a promise of hope. When she lost him weeks later, she told herself she never needed those sentiments again. Only when she discovers years later that her new neighbor is her late husband’s brother, Annabelle finds she can’t quite shake the emotions she’s long since buried.

Jacob Queen vowed he’d never set eyes on Annabelle again. When they’re forced into each other’s lives once more, they realize that no matter how far they run, no distance can keep them apart forever. More than ghosts lay between them, and when they finally give in to temptation, walking away whole may no longer be an option.

This was a very pleasant story to read Annabelle and Jacob new each other growing up she was his brothers best friend.
The story was well written and I loved how the characters grew from the beginning of the story to the end.
I don't want to give any of the story away. so you just have to listen or read.
Aaron and Emma did a great job narrating. defenitely worth the credit.

Another great listen

I loved Annabelle and Jacob. When they were younger they were friends as she was best friends with his brother. When his brother passed he held anger at her for not having the time he wanted with his brother in the end. There were things that he didn’t know were going on and he felt that she married his brother in the end just to get attention. Annebelle has missed her friend since he passed and she misses the friendship she lost with Jacob as well. She has been living her life working at the family business. When Jacobs mom gets sick he returns home and the two of them end up in close proximity to each other. They have a lot of issues to work through and slowly that happens. Neither plan on the feelings that start to form between them. I loved watching these two find each other. Then his ex comes to town and things take a hard turn. Will Jacob be able to realize what he has with Annabelle and find their HEA? Great read and characters. Loved the narrators for this story

Wonderful new Montgomery romance!

A promising start to a new series! A slightly different setup and a bit more family tension than in most of the other Montgomery stories, which I thought made for an intriguing change.
Annabelle is a great heroine, a capable and resourceful young woman with a loving heart. Her close relationship with Jacob’s parents was genuinely heartwarming, especially in view of their shared loss. Jacob is intense and quite direct, definitely struggling with his grief and some misconceptions about Annabelle. I really liked them together, the sparks, the banter, the raw emotions… They have an intense frenemies to lovers vibe going on! I liked the unexpected threat to the HEA, which was very well-written and added a nice adrenaline kick.

Narration: Emma Wilder and Aaron Shedlock both did an amazing job with their performance of this story. I loved their acting, the way they paced the narration and the emotions they brought to the story. Emma Wilder has a lovely voice, very pleasant to listen to,and Aaron Shedlock's warm, roguish timbre is perfect for Jacob.

Love the Montgomery’s

This is the first of the Fort Collins Montgomery’s we get to see Annabella and Jacob’s story.

Annabella works with her family that builds homes and she is the architect. Her family is very close and they work well together but find it a bit harder as of lately with their dad butting in on all of the upcoming projects.

That’s not the only issue she faces her new neighbor is Jacob Queen and he is not to fond of her for reasons she’s not exactly sure of but like anything else she’s determined to make the most of the situation. Unfortunately there is one little problem they both seem to find themselves attracted to each other no matter how much they deny it.

Overall, it’s a wonderful new story and you’ll get a HEA the author always gives us an amazing beautiful story. Looking forward to more Montgomery’s.

The narrators were a perfect choice for the story and brought it too life.

Loved it! So many feels!

I absolutely enjoyed listening to Inked Persuasion by Carrie Ann Ryan. Narrated by Emma Wilder and Aaron Shedlock, they truly brought this story to life for me. A story about grief, loss, family, hope and second chances. This is the first book in the Montgomery Ink: Fort Collins series and will draw you in right from the start. Jacob never wanted to see Annabelle again. She stole so much from him, right? So Imagine his surprise when he moves back home and discovers she is his new neighbor. They have so much history together, can they find a way to co-exist?

Jacob was a bit of a jerk at the start of the story, but we get to see why he feels like he does. But when he leans the truth, we see a more caring and determined side of him. Annabelle was sweet, likable and strong. And I just loved her relationship with her siblings. As Jacob and Annabelle become friends, they realize they share an amazing chemistry and connection. They want to keep things light and fun, but life is never that easy. Obstacles seem to find their way between them. Can they find their happily ever after? I loved their journey so much!

Happy reading!

Welcome to Fort Collins, Montgomery Style!

I have loved getting to meet the Montgomery families, and the Fort Collins clan is a great addition. The first book from the new series is an enemy-to-lover tale and is Annabelle and Jacob's story. Jacob's family absolutely adores Annabelle but Jacob's dislike for Annabelle has kept him away from his parents until it's time to come home and take care of his family. They have a complicated history and to make matters, Jacob and Annabelle end up living next door to each other. The tension between these two is palpable and believable and when they get together they are fire. In the midst of this budding relationship, Annabelle works for the family business along with her brothers and sister. There is tension there as her father is having difficulty giving up control and feels he needs to keep up with the other thriving Montgomery businesses. I enjoyed seeing Jacob and Annabelle overcome the challenges they faced on all fronts.

As this is the start of a new series there are some interesting family members that I look forward to discovering more of their story. The audio included a clip titled Broken which is Eliza's story and I can't wait to hear her journey.

Narration by Emma Wilder and Aaron Shedlock was fantastic. Not new to me but this was my first time hearing them together. They definitely brought heat and a bit of spice to their narration.

Annabelle Montgomery...

Annabelle has a very unique family. They are loving like all the Montgomerys but they carry more than 1 set of twins. She is a young widow and her brother in law just came back to town to be with his parents. Jacob lost his brother way too young and blames Annabelle for it. The story has its sad moments, angry too... with a bit of suspense. Enemies to lovers, stalkers and an amazing romance bloom in this book.

Annabelle and Jacob

This is the first book in a new series about the Fort Collins Montgomerys, same surname but the family connection comes via Annabelle's mother not her father.

At eighteen Annabell's best friend Jonah Queen was dying he had a last wish, he wanted to marry and experience as many of life's milestones as he could before he passed the main one being he wanted to marry Annabelle. Annabelle didn't want to get married, she loved him as a friend but not as a lover but Jacob's parents asked her to give their son this final gift and so she agreed. The attention the media gave to the wedding and then to Jonah's death shortly after raised much-needed funds which went towards researching a cure for the illness which took his life and left her a young widow.

Jacob, Jonah's older brother, resented Annabelle for the time with Jonah he felt she robbed him of, he even convinced himself that he hated her. He went away to college and then started his own law practice and only returned to visit his parents occasionally although they remained very close. He and Annabelle have not met for years although Annabelle remains the much loved "daughter" to his parents, she even has lunch with them every Sunday. When his mother becomes ill Jacob knows the time has come to move back to his hometown, to spend more time with his parents and help his father look after his mother. Jacob buys a house, makes the move and then discovers that Annabelle lives next door.

Their paths are bound to keep crossing and as neither wants to hurt his parents they talk and a truce is formed. They even talk about Jonah and their feelings something which is long overdue. Neither of them is looking to start a relationship, he's just escaped a bad marriage and is busy setting up his new practice, whilst she's too busy to devote the time a relationship would need but they are attracted to each other so they agree to have a "Friends with Benefits" arrangement. Of course, her siblings are as protective as we've come to expect from any Montgomery, her sister even threatens castration if he should hurt her but Jacob proves himself worthy of joining their fold.

But as with all of Carrie Ann's stories just when things appear to be going well disaster strikes....... What that involves is something you will have to buy the book to find out, no more spoilers from me.

The narration by Emma Wilder and Aaron Shedlock is so well done they work perfectly together and lift this excellent story to, if it's possible, an even higher level of enjoyment.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Fantastic first book

Annabelle is a Fort Collins Montgomery that runs Montgomery building company that was started by her father but is run not by Annabelle and her brothers and sisters.
Jacob has moved to Fort Collins to look after his mum and dad but didn’t realise his sister in law is Annabelle’s lives next door.
Annabelle love her husband but thing are not what Jacob thinks and he gets a shock when he stars to see her and his family more.
Absolutely loved this book, it’s so heartbreaking but forgiving at same time. Carrie Ann Ryan has such a gift to deliver these types of book without them being too depressive. Looking forward to finding out the other brothers and sisters happy ever afters.
This was my first time listening to Aaron Shedlock which has now become a favourite but also the amazing Emma Wilder to compliment him.
