Publisher's Summary

As a neuroscientist, Marjorie Woollacott had no doubts that the brain was a purely physical entity controlled by chemicals and electrical pulses. When she experimented with meditation for the first time, however, her entire world changed. Woollacott's journey through years of meditation has made her question the reality she built her career upon and has forced her to ask what human consciousness really is. Infinite Awareness pairs Woollacott's research as a neuroscientist with her self-revelations about the mind's spiritual power. Between the scientific and spiritual worlds, she breaks open the definition of human consciousness to investigate the existence of a nonphysical and infinitely powerful mind.

Full of mind blowing information

This book is full of so many aspects of the scientific methods behind topics such as reincarnation, near death experiences, out of body experiences and more.
The first part of the book seems to focus more on meditation, which is fine, but I expected more from the book and found my attention failing a bit. Once it got into the more in depth topics I was completely hooked and keen to know more. I’ll definitely be listening to this audiobook again, as I feel a lot of it went over my head the first time and I’d like to get a deeper understanding of the topics mentioned.

Rare book for a scientist

Interesting, but far from science.

I accept their are things beyond the material, and I commend the author for writing about it.

However what cannot be measured cannot be scientific. This does not mean its not true, but only that its beyond our subjective reach.

Not really a book if you're looking for scientific breakthroughs in this area of dualism.

A fascinating book that compels me to read it again.

Infinite awareness is a comprehensive, disciplined, creative, courageous, and thoroughly enjoyable exposition of the meeting ground of science and spiritual experience. Kudos to you, Dr. Woollacott for undertaking this work and giving it your all so that your reader can understand, enjoy, and appreciate your rigorous inquiry.

NDE's, Meditation and Alternative Healing

This was an interesting and enjoyable listen.

I was a skeptic and an atheist not long ago , so I was curious to hear someone else's experiences.

Despite reading quite a few books in this general area of research over the past few years, I still heard some interesting things I had not seen elsewhere. While much of the book is focused on meditation and NDEs (near-death experiences) as a grounds for there being "something more", there were also studies I hadn't seen regarding reincarnation, hypnotism and alternative healing modalities. I was excited that Reiki was one of these modalities she spent more time talking about, since I became initiated a few months ago. There were also some scientific theories I hadn't heard mention of in the past, like the "filter theory" for the brain.

Mrs. Woollacott's narration was pleasing. Although on occasion she'd pronounce a word in a way that was somewhat foreign to me, her voice is soothing and she enunciates quite well.

This is a good listen for those who are curious about what more may be out there, but also for those looking for reinforcement in their meditation practices and the "higher path" in general.

For those interested in further research I'd personally suggest any of Dr. Joe Dispenza's books and Michael Newton's "Journey of Souls: Case Studies of Life Between Lives".

Peace and Love to all,

Thanks for reading.
