Publisher's Summary

Bullying isn’t anything new. The War in Heaven was really a conflict between a bully and the anti-bully. Bullies always abuse their power, talents, and abilities to gain an advantage over others. They have been around since before we all came to earth and have been present throughout history.

Many books have been written about how to combat bullying. In the Quiet Heart, however, takes a closer look at the bullies present in scriptural accounts and examines how those involved reacted in each situation. Nephi’s older brothers were clear examples of bullies, but instead of resorting to violence and revenge, Nephi frankly forgave his brothers and continually tried to redirect them to righteous living. We can learn from Nephi’s attitude how to react to difficult people, even those in our own families.

Some who started out as bullies, such as Saul and Alma the Younger, changed their lives and become a significant force for good. In the ultimate example about how to deal with bullies, Jesus Christ showed that there are many ways for righteous people to handle bullies. From each of these accounts, we can draw strength and generate ideas to apply to our lives.
