Publisher's Summary

Soon to be a TV series starring Chris Pratt.

A woman boards a plan in Burkina Faso having just completed a targeted assassination for the state of Israel. Two minutes after take-off, her plane is blown out of the sky.

Six thousand miles to the east, James Reece watches the names and pictures of the victims cross cable news. One face triggers a distant memory of a Mossad operative attached to the CIA years earlier in Iraq, a woman with ties to the intelligence services of two nations, a woman Reece thought he would never see again....

In a global pursuit spanning four continents, James Reece will enlist the help of friends new and old to track down her killer and walk right into a trap set by a master sniper, a sniper who has enlisted help of his own....

The fifth in the best-selling James Reece series, from former Navy SEAL Jack Carr. If you loved Lee Child's Jack Reacher, Peter James's Roy Grace or Michael Connelly's Mickey Haller, you will love James Reece!

Critic Reviews

"A propulsive and compulsive series. Jack Carr’s James Reece is the kind of guy you’d want to have in your corner. A suspenseful and exhilarating thrill-ride. Jack Carr is the real deal." (Andy McNab)

"This is seriously good...the suspense is unrelenting, and the tradecraft is so authentic the government will probably ban it – so read it while you can!" (Lee Child)

"With a particular line in authentic tradecraft, this fabulously unrelenting thrill-ride was a struggle to put down." (Mark Dawson)

Great fun

Jimmy Reece rides again dealing out death and destruction. Carr’s righteous kills never get old. Sad it’s another 12 months until volume 6. Lucky the TV show is coming.

Retribution & Revenge

A brilliantly researched & written thriller. Totally engaging from beginning to end. Filled with “whispers of truth” and violence of action. Technically detailed & historically encompassing. An outstanding 5 star + story. A definite must listen to or read.

Like all the others I enjoyed 'On the Blood'.

Once again Jack Carr delivers a no nonsense journey of extreme.violence, travel and tutorials in the weapons of war.
In the Blood never left me waiting a blast of bone smashing, round popping, adrenaline with each turn of the page. Carr has mastered a formula which Ray Porter knows how to deliver expertly with the right timing and appropriate accents to tell the story right. I enjoyed it and cannot wait to see how James Reece gets out his next pickle.

More of the same, but still great fun.

James Reece continues to kill his way out of trouble. You know the formula, but it doesn't matter, you still want Reece to overcome his adversaries in the most violent way imaginable.

Outstanding

Another outstanding book by Jack Carr, James Reese is a good guy who likes to do bad things to bad people.

And once Ray Porter is bang on the money with the narration.

always a good listen

Yet again Ray Porter does an outstanding job of bringing Jack Carr's story to life and what a story he has penned for us. James Reece is back at savage best and does not disappoint, the underlying narrative for him as a character is one known to all as we get older and the ending as always left me wanting more, Guess we just have to wait for the 6th installment.

Jack Carr's best yet

Just finished this and I'm blown away. An absolutely pounder with a great story, frenetic pacing, twist after turn, novel plot devices subtly woven into the narrative, timely social and technological commentary, continuing development of returning characters and Ray Porter's unparalleled narration.

I have one or two quibbles about MacGuffins and Deux Ex Machina, but it would be churlish to let these get in the way of my absolute enjoyment over 2 days of listening.

Obviously I wouldn't give away the ending, but you're not going to be left wondering whether there will be more James Reece books.

I got in at the ground floor with the James Reece series of books, purely by accident, but I feel so lucky to have done so.

I imagine this could stand alone and be read/listened to by someone who isn't up to speed with the previous four books, but it'd be so much more rich and satisfying if you've followed the series from the start.

Masterpiece!!!

Jack Carr is one of the best in the business when it comes to writing military-grade action thrillers. In the Blood is his latest masterpiece.
