About this listen

After crossing a magically radioactive desert and fending off a necromancer, Viv can aspire to some respite from all the horrors and foul-smelling undead. The border city of Kazar promises to be a haven where she can rest, learn how to use her new powers, and understand why she ended up in the fantastic world of Nyil. Arthur the pocket dragon and the genocidal golem Solfis are nice and all but she yearns for some human contact and look, there are plenty of humans around. With their own agenda.

Surely, nothing horrible will come to disturb her peace.

Surely.

The story itself is engaging and well put together, but the pacing varies. There are moments that linger longer than needed, followed by sections that progress very quickly.

great story with fun voice acting

I love the skill progression with this book, feels like something closer to natural. Can’t wait for the next book!

Loved this book so much

The fun of book one continues - yes I recommend book two - but the golem character now has heavy digital voice distortion which is hard to understand and annoying. The awkward lesbian fling was annoying too.

Fun but annoying
